Today’s post is a little different, because I have a fun announcement! I love makeup, but I also just love being creative in general. I like making things, and decorating homes, and cooking, and growing plants and basically anything where I can get in there and make something with my own two hands. I love crafting my own environment to be a reflection of me, and making delicious food and fun drinks and enjoying them with friends and family.

I do a lot of that stuff, but it doesn’t really have a place here on MsQuinnFace.com because this is a beauty blog. I don’t want people to come here looking for lipstick and get “How to make a DIY backsplash” you know what I mean? But I also need somewhere to put all of the photos of the stuff I do on the side because things is getting crazy. I mean I DIYed half my wedding, it was insanely beautiful (IMHO) and I didn’t have anywhere to post it so I just snuck one quick DIY on here…blasphemy!

So I thought long and hard about it and I decided the best way to go about it is to start a second blog. It’s called TheDailyQuinn.com! I’m going to keep the content a little more loosey goosey and not really pigeon hole myself into only writing about certain topics BUT some of the things I’m planning to write about are:

• Home Decor
• DIY
• Food
• Drinks
• Travel
• Maybe some gardening since I’ll have a yard soon
• And any other damn thing I please

I feel like it’s quite an appropriate time because this post is launching on the very same day that we close on our house! I’m so excited, and nervous . . .and when I’m nervous I plan, so I’ve got a lot to talk about in the home decor ideas department already. I’m going to get a bar cart, and cool bar glasses and stuff! And I’m thinking of hanging string lights over the entire back yard area OMFG I’m so excited I could just pee! But I’ll hold it in for doth I am a lady.

I think I’m going to bring a speaker to the house once we get the keys and blast a song (I’m thinking jump around by house of pain but that’s tentative) and dance and run around for a little bit…that’s what adults do when they buy a house right?

Baby, Imma paint you and change you lighting fixtures so good…

Let me put my couch in youuuuu.

Ok, that’s enough talking to my house like a creep. Seriously though, I’m so excited to have the room to do all the stuff I’ve been thinking about for ages. My current apartment is cool as hell but after two years here, we have outgrown it a bit. I need a bigger office area so I can finally put my drafting desk back in it, and have a closet to store my lighting and makeup and nail polish racks and other things. Oh and we will both have walk in closets in the bedroom so my poor husband doesn’t have to get changed in my office because that’s where his clothes are…you see what I mean? We needed more space.

The house is pretty legit if I do say so myself, it was built in 1901 and it has all original floors (some are wide pine, squee!) and original built-ins but it’s been retrofitted with modern things like heated tile in the bathroom and gas fireplaces with a remote . . .so basically heaven. We really wanted something with character but also modern comforts, and it just worked out so perfectly. I’m sorry I’m not bragging I’m just so excited! I can actually put my crockpot away instead of leaving it on the stove! I’ll have room for my Nespresso so it doesn’t have to live on the kitchen table! All good things, all good things.
