Duuuudes! How the heck are ya? It’s time for Friday Faces again, and the more I do these, the more it turns into a “catch up on life” type of thing but whatevs. The last few weeks have kind of all melted together into a blur of things and stuff but I’m going to try to remember where I wore these particular faces and makeup looks and show you a little of my travels in between.
Speaking of travels, I got a chance to go home to New York and see some family and friends, and while it already seems like a million yeas ago and the whole thing was a blur, I definitely had a great time.
We had awesome weather so we got to enjoy some sun on the roof with the pups. Speaking of the pups, my family’s dogs are the cutest. I know everyone thinks that but damn they’re cute. My mom’s dachshund has literally the cutest paws on planet Earth.
Handsome bastards they are. I also got to spend a whole afternoon wandering around in the sun with my mom and sister.
We completed our stroll with some Mexican food, which was like the pregame for dinner and drinks later with friends. I literally took zero pictures of that though. We got too distracted talking about how the phrase “something to write home about” is pretty hilarious if you take it literally, and then playing Heads Up, which is a really fun game you can get on your phone. If you’re looking for a game to play with a group of people, you should try it.
Sometimes when you’re having too much fun you forget about pictures and actually live your life. Isn’t it nice when that happens? I still wish I had pictures though…actually I wish my eyeballs would just take pictures for me as I go through life, but that’s a whole different discussion.
Makeup wise I took a huge risk on this trip. I purchased the Kat Von D shade and light eye palette and without having even tried it, I decided to make it the sole source of eyeshadow for my entire weekend. Ballsy move, I know, but it worked out great! I’ll talk more about the palette itself later but it got the job done and is definitely very versatile.
Once we got back home I started trying to catch up on blog work and creative stuff, but I got pretty caught up in paperwork for the house (which I think is finished now keep your fingers crossed for me or it’s going to be a very long weekend) so the timeline of life got even more blurry, but I did get a few chances to do makeup that was at least a little fun and take photos of it.

Monday of this week was pouring rain and unexpectedly cold, but errands have to get done whether it’s terrible outside or not. My philosophy is that when it’s raining and terrible outside you should put on really bright lipstick and a hat with cat ears to counteract it. It works, try it sometime. I also decided to extend my liquid liner a little further into my tear duct area, and I really like the shape it gives, but I find that it melts away into a an eyeliner colored eye booger after a few hours, so it’s short lived. Maybe it’s one of those things you need to commit to touching up several times a day, or maybe it’s just the shape of my eye that causes that issue. Who knows.
I’m really excited that they came out with the Tattoo Liner in a dark brown shade though! I’ve been looking for a dark brown liquid eyeliner that applies well for aaaaaages. I feel like most of them are not as good as their black counterparts, even in the best formulas. They aren’t opaque or they are too warm toned, or they don’t last. This one is perfect though, I’m very pleased.

Tuesday…or Wednesday…I honestly don’t even know what day this was, but the weather turned out to be fantastic so I tried to get out and clear my head and enjoy it as much as possible. I picked up some NYX prismatic eyeshadows, specifically to use them as a fun twist on an inner corner highlight, and I really like them! This icy blue color was a little difficult to work with when I used it on a brush, but when I applied it with my finger to pack on color and then softened the edges with a brush it was really awesome. So theres your advice for the week: try applying NYX prismatic shadows with your finger.
I think most people plan their makeup to go with their outfits, but I literally do my makeup and don’t even think about what I’m wearing until after it’s done (unless it’s a big event that I got a specific dress for). Is that normal? What do you guys do? I only bring it up because I didn’t even notice that I subconsciously coordinated my sweater with my inner corner highlight until I looked back at the photos.
OK enough rambling about these makeup looks. I’ve got things to do, and fun new projects in the works that will probably be posted on here in the very near future…and I really need to get my nails in order because YIKES. Bye, I love your face! <3
