I’m not sure if this has come across here at all, but I have been on a bit of a luxury item spree lately. It’s something about the holiday seasons and sales with the glitzy gold and lights and big warm cozy sweaters everywhere. I’m just over here like yaaaaas cover me in gold things and various luxury knitwear! I’ve been feeling a wee bit indulgent, to put it plainly.
As much as this luxury fever has taken over, I still love me a good bargain and I especially love me some beauty or fashion bargains under ten dollars. So today to bring it back down to reality, let’s have a look at some great things that are under ten bucks!
- OGX Hydrating Argan Oil of Morocco Body Wash - I am super duper picky about body wash. First of all, I don’t like my body washes to smell like sprinkle cupcakes and sugarplum fairies and stuff, that’s just not for me. Sorry if that’s your thing, but I hate how you smell in your shower. Second of all I have really sensitive skin and my body gets very dry and with a lot of body washes I will get out of the shower and be suuuuuper unbearably itchy for a while. This Argan Oil body wash from OGX is gentle and moisturizing so I never have the itchy omg-kill-me-now-i’m-gonna-scratch-my-legs-off issue after using it, and it smells really good, in a very non-cupcake way. The best part is, it’s like six bucks for 13 oz, which is an über bargain compared to a lot of high end body wash!
- KushyFoot Opaque Tights* - In past “great things under ten” posts I’ve mentioned that I really like the kushyfoot ultra low foot covers. Well it’s cold out now, and I need to cover up my legs. Luckily KushyFoot also makes opaque tights! Tights are a tough thing for me to pick out because I’m pretty tall, which means that I have to be careful that tights will be too short and I will get a nice MC Hammer crotch going under my dress. That’s trendy in pants, not so much tights. The kushyfoot tights are plenty long for my amazon woman legs and the cushioned footbeds make it much more comfortable to wear them with a bit of a heel. As far as tights go these are my faves at the moment.
- L’oreal Silkisime Eyeliner - I don’t know what else to say about these except that the quality is on par with Urban Decay, they are constantly expanding the color range and they’re under ten dollars a piece! I’ve talked about the champagne pink color before, but now they have all sorts of brights and darks and metallics to choose from. Drugstore brands really have stepped their game up since I was a youngin’.
- Bath and Body Works Mini Candles - I really love cozy fall and winter scents in my home, but when I go to Bath & Body to pick some out I have a really hard time deciding what to get . . .and coming home with 4 or 5 three wick candles when they aren’t on sale is just NOT an option. I’m ridiculous, but I’m not THAT ridiculous. Which is why I really love the mini candles! I can get a few different scents for $4.50 each (or sometimes three for ten if you get lucky and go when there’s a sale) and have each room in my house be a different cozy smell. They have the plain minis and they also have some tiny mason jars that are really cute. Leaves, Winter and Autumn Night are my absolute favorites this year.
- Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Lipstick - I don’t usually gravitate toward drugstore lipsticks (outside of NYX . . .is that considered drugstore? I know it sure is affordable!) but I decided to give this a try because I saw Jess from the awesome beauty blog Polish and Pout wearing it on Instagram in the color divine wine, and it looked SO GOOD on her. She also said she loved the formula, so I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you gurl, I was not disappointed. It’s creamy and hydrating but still matte. It wears really well, and it even made it in to my favorite vampy lipsticks post. I will definitely be picking up more colors, because I’m a matte lipstick junkie, and making them that affordable is really just enabling my habit.
Ahhh, do you feel that relief? I don’t know about you but I feel like I have cleansed myself with bargains after spending way too much on luxury items. The next bargain-oriented post should be related to holiday stocking stuffers. How exciting is that!?
(Items marked with a “*” were sent to me for consideration. I am under no obligation to mention these items or say that I like them. All of the opinions stated are OF COURSE my own. Everything else was purchased by me, with my own monies.)
