It hasn’t been a terribly long time since I wrote one of these types of posts, but I just think they’re so handy I couldn’t help myself. I’m always finding little things that jazz up my routine or simply make my life easier, and I get so excited when they’re something affordable. Who doesn’t love beauty products under ten bucks amiright? Not all of these are beauty products though, a couple are just things that have been making my life better as I have transitioned into my summer wardrobe, but hey let’s be honest, thats pretty darn important too. Ok let’s just dive into the meat of it, shall we?
- NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - You guys know how much I love a matte liquid lipstick . . .if you don’t you must be new here (welcome!) So if you tell me I can get one for around six bucks you know I’m all over that! I picked up the color Stockholm because one the girls who works at Trader Joe’s was wearing it and it looked SO cute on her, and I liked the formula so much I wound up getting Antwerp and Addis Ababa too. It goes one smooth, even and it’s super light so it feels like you have nothing on . . . and it smells really good. It wears pretty well, not as long as my beloved Stila “stay all day liquid lipsticks” But for the price it’s pretttttty good. I approve.
- KushyFoot Super Low Cut Foot Covers*- So I hate wearing socks, I always have. I look for any way out of wearing them I can find. I just find them uncomfortable and bunchy and when I’m wearing cool sneakers or low cut booties I just despise how they look popping out over the top. Ruins the whole look, blech! The problem is that when I wear nothing I end up getting blisters and stuff, so its like an ongoing battle. These super low foot covers don’t show even in low cut flats, and yet they stay on because they have super thin silicon grips on the insides so you never have that awkward moment when you’re walking down the street with your sock halfway under your foot. They’re also really thin, which is great for my sockophobia because I don’t feel like they’re bunched and uncomfortable around my toes AND they are cushioned. Which is fantastic if you’re wearing a bit of a higher heel and you need some cushion on the ball of your foot. I’m not one to wear super high heels often, but I’m saving my cute lace pair of footcovers for a few weddings coming up this summer, I’ll be a lot less grumpy waiting for the cake if I have nice cushioned feet 😉
- Racerback Bra Clips - So speaking of little wardrobe extras that are awesome for the summer, can we talk about these racerback bra clips for a second? Why didn’t I have these years ago? I have always struggled with wearing bras with tank tops because A. Momma needs full support, mmkay? and B. I don’t want to strangle myself in a strapless bra every time I wear a little cotton tank. That ruins the whole experience of a soft flowy shirt. So I saw these clips while I was strolling the virtual halls of amazon and I decided to give them a go. They’re a little hard to put on, I’m not gonna lie, but they stay on well (thank GOD because how embarrassing if your bra clip comes flying off in public!) and they pull your straps in just enough so they sit under a racerback tank without being seen. They also seem to give the girls a little extra oomph, which I’m definitely not mad about either. They come in a pack of four (two clear and two black) which is awesome for just 8 bucks . . .but two of them are a little different weird shape and I haven’t quite figured out how to utilize those yet. The round ones work wonders though so I’m all set. I’ll get back to you if I figure out the other two.
- China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-Le - I know there are a lot of quality brands of nail polish that come in under the ten dollar mark, but lately China Glaze has been rocking my world and I feel like they don’t get that much love. This Secret Peri-Wink-Le Color has been a new favorite of mine since I picked it up. The color is so nice and I feel like its really interesting. Plus, the quality is REALLY good. I’m not 100% crazy about the brush, it’s a little skinny for my taste, but it’s not a deal breaker.
- Maybelline Color Whispers - I wrote about this product recently in my Plum Listicks post, so I won’t go on about it at length. But if you are looking for a sheer lip color that gives a stained glass, jelly effect, feels like a moisturizing balm and won’t break the bank then this is your jam right here. I have “A Plum Prospect” and “Cherry On Top” and they both make regular appearances in my handbag.
Those are the little bargains I’m loving right now. I’ll keep these little collections of beauty products under ten bucks and other little bargains coming if you like them. Let me know what you think!
