Sometimes it’s really hard to find interesting makeup ideas that you will actually wear on a day to day basis. There are so many beautiful and creative tutorials out there, but a lot of them are only realistic (for most people) for a night out or a special occasion. I know a lot of girls who have literally never even applied false eyelashes…still that doesn’t mean you want to be boring right?

Let’s get real, how many times can you do the same manicure or the same old neutral lid with winged eyeliner and not get bored? It’s like eating the same food every day…unless it’s pizza you’re gonna get sick of it. Most daily makeup isn’t pizza, its more like a salad with grilled chicken, yeah it’s fine and it will help you look good but where is the adventure? Why do my metaphors always involve food?

For day to day, I find the best way to keep you makeup looks interesting is to add a little twist to one element. For example lately I’ve been obsessed with mixing cool neutrals with warm metallics. I’ve been doing it subconsciously with everything actually, even my sunglasses but this is a beauty blog so we can focus on makeup and nails.

The looks are really simple, but still a little different than the norm. Maybe it’s my art school background but little twists on color combinations like this excite my soul. Maybe it isn’t enough for you to feel extra jazzy, but if you feel like you are bored or in a rut with your day to day looks give it a try.
