Friday Faces Volume 4.

Before we get into the meat and potatoes of this post here is a quick tip for you: Organize your makeup in a way where you can see a lot of it. You’ll come up with a lot more makeup looks that way. I took a lot of my lip colors and eye pencils out of their little drawers and started keeping them in jars on my vanity and it’s really helped me to actually use more if the things I own.

It’s definitely easier to play around with products when you have them right in front of your face. Thats a fact, Jack.

So what have I been up to lately? Besides being a boring old lady who works on her computer all day and then signs a lot of paperwork and meets with plumbers for estimates and other boring stuff like that, it was my birthday this week! Which was fun but ironically makes me more of a literal old lady than the aforementioned metaphorical one.

So what does an old lady do on her birthday? Well she eats a lot, I can tell you that much…

To be clear these are two separate meals, and only one of many courses from each. It went down. I put a hurting on some food that day. What type of makeup looks might one wear while they were doing this type of culinary damage, you ask? Well, this is what I wore…

I saw EasyNeon use this teal pencil in her waterline recently and I was like yeah I’m gonna need to try that. It’s a way more flattering waterline color than I ever imagined it would be. I did big messy wavy hair and paired it with a nude lip. I’m a nude lip monster lately, I seriously cant get enough.

[Side note: I’ve been using LimeCrime Cashmere for my nude lips, and I knew for a while that they were having issues with the velvetines being out of stock but I hadn’t realized the whole stolen credit card thing was going on until last week when I got a letter from them about it and I looked further into things. In light of that situation I’m going to do another post listing all the possible dupes for the more unique colors of theirs that I use and I will put that up really soon. Then I can just keep updating the dupe list and refer back to it whenever I mention that I used those colors.]

The rest of the week was mostly uneventful, my lovely husband and I did our usual errands and stuff on Monday so I tossed on a pretty simple monochromatic look.

Plum eyes and plum lips are fun! I was totally digging this. I love how using different eyeliner and eyeshadow colors makes your eye color look different. Maybe I’m a dork but I find that really exciting. It was also super easy to do, so that’s always a win. I just smudged the burgundy/plum color called “sexy” from the NudeTude palette into the lash line with a pencil brush and then went along the top lash line to define the lashes a bit, then UD rockstar liner in the waterline and mascara. Super simple and easy.

And for the lips I used the lip combo that I described in THIS POST, which is an old favorite.

I look like a creepy-dead-doll-face in that selfie but it was the only one I got because we were supposed to be meeting people for drinks and we were running super late.

This eye look was super simple too, I just did a wing with black gel liner and then buffed it out with brown and I really liked the effect. What I thought made it a little more interesting was I decided to contour my crease a little differently than usual. I put some brown in just the outer half of the crease, and then lightly contoured the nose line. It’s subtle but it creates a different shape which is always fun to play around with.

Again, I was wearing the same matte nude lip that has been the norm lately. Must. Wear. Different. Lipsticks. Dammit.
