Well blended eyeshadow is a crux of good makeup application. It’s also a huge source of stress if you aren’t any good at it. Unfortunately I’ve seen many a girl on social media get berated for not blending well enough. Don’t be stressed. You no worry, child. QuinnFace give you tips now.
Last time I touched on this subject I spoke of transition shades. Today I’m talking brushes, but if you are really having trouble with blending then read the post on transition shades as well, it might be helpful.
Here is today’s quick tip, are you ready?
Use two blending brushes. Simple enough right? But why do we use two, you ask. When you are blending out the edges of your shadow, you will probably take one blending brush, dip it in the appropriate color and get to blending, right? What happens when you do that and it won’t blend quite enough?
Going back into the color, adding another color, or even just continuing to use the same brush with the remnants of that color on it can all lead to mudiness. So simply grab another clean blending brush instead!
Just lightly use the clean blending brush to diffuse the edge of your shadow. Using a light hand is the key, it’s like you want to airbrush the eyeshadow outward. You don’t want to smash the bristles into your lid for doth you are a lady…and also mostly because that doesn’t blend it as well.
Since you aren’t adding color this will also help you not to blend your shadows too high. Bringing color all the way to the brow can work for some looks but we also don’t want to end up looking like Mimi from the Drew Carey show
It’s really that simple. A spare brush can be the key to a whole new level of eyeshadow blending game. Give it a try, let me know if it helps, and if you have any amazing eyeshadow blending tips let me know in a comment!
