Howdy folks! Happy new year! Isn’t it weird that somewhere down the line someone decided a new year starts on a certain day and we all act like its this opportunity to start anew even though its literally just another day? Is that too heavy a topic to start a post about makeup looks? I swear I’m not high. But I do truly believe you should push yourself to be the best version of you, and grow and improve because you have a deep sense of self love all the time and not just at the beginning of January. But if you are making resolutions, make them good, and stick to them. You got this, baby!
Anyways, how was your holiday? Mine was quiet and spent with old friends, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I didn’t get to see my family, and a few good friends couldn’t make it, but it still left me feeling really grateful. I also cooked more food at one time than I ever have before in my life, and watched more terrible 80s action movies than I new existed. My Netflix recently played list looks like a teenage boy for 1984 time traveled to my living room and discovered binge watching. That’s what I get for having big burly dudes as friends I guess.
Much like around Thanksgiving time I pre planned most of my blog posts and makeup looks, so I don’t really have a strong recollection of where I wore them all, but I’ll do my best to pull it out of the old memory bank.
This first look however I vividly remember wearing to go last minute Christmas shopping. It was 65 degrees out, high humidity and pouring rain, which is really strange for December in New Hampshire, but what can you do? You put your hair in a bun, try your new Colourpop liner and get on with it, right?
Speaking of that new Colourpop liner, it’s called superstition and the color is so cool! Deep brown with purple reflects. Yes please, come to momma.

Ok this next one I legit have no idea where I wore it. I thought maybe it was to go see StarWars with my husband but I’m pretty sure I wore almost no makeup for that. I also didn’t realize he bought tickets for the 3D one, and I really hate 3D movies. I wear glasses so I have to wear the stupid, big ass plastic ones over my real glasses and it’s so uncomfortable and distracting. Does anyone else have that problem? I don’t wear contacts so I guess it’s unavoidable. I thought the movie was kinda meh anyway (I’m sorry, please don’t kill me) so no harm no foul I guess.
What I do know about this look is that I used two of the new Anastasia single shadows in Brownie and Peacock, and they are just lovely. Especially together! They compliment each other really nicely. I also want to try using peacock over a dark base though, I think that will look really rich and amazing.

I have a little tip for this one. If you want to add some glitter to your look, but you don’t want to deal with the fuss of applying a loose glitter, try a glitter liner like the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner (which is what I used) or the NYX glitter liners. They brush on like a liquid liner with little to no fallout, and stay on all day. You don’t have to use them just as a liner either, you can paint them on over a shadow to top off the look with glitter just like you would with a loose one. So. much. easier.
