Getting a perfect lipstick application is like seeing a unicorn, it never happens and if you think it does you’re on drugs. I kid, I kid but it’s definitely not easy to get it absolutely perfect.
The good news is that when you color outside the lines a little there is a super quick and easy way to clean it up without starting over. All you need is a concealer pencil, and a small clean brush.
I usually reach for the NYX Wonder Pencil because it’s a nice thin concealer pencil, but there are a few on the market that will get the job done. I also like to use a clean eyeshadow shader brush but any small brush that’s dense but can still be used to blend will do.
See how in the photo above everything looks pretty much on point except the bottom corner looks a little….mushy? That’s the type of thing we can totally take care of real quick
Grab your concealer pencil and use it to create a straight line in that area. It will probably look a little harsh at first but don’t worry we will take care of that in a second. I wouldn’t leave yo ass hanging with a crazy looking concealer lip.
Now grab your small, clean brush and blend out the line but make sure of two things!
- Never touch the actual lipstick with the brush, be very careful of this because its real easy to accidentally blend your lipstick down your face. Be gentle and use short movements.
- You can use back and forth motions, but to spread the concealer and disperse it into the surrounding skin you will want to blend away from the lip. You don’t want to get concealer onto the lipstick. It’s like the reverse of rule one.
See how much cleaner that looks? I mean nothing is ever going to be a perfect perfect lipstick application but it’s damn close, especially considering how messy it was on the underside before…fake it til you make it, ya know?
