Holy balls you guys, it’s October! Fun fact: October is my favorite month. It’s not even my birthday month or anything I’m just into it. Also I had my first Dirty Chai of the season the other day, and no joke as I took a sip I felt the spicy goodness warming my soul. I know you can get those all year, but they only make sense to me in the fall and winter months. In the summer I’m all about that cold brew. Black like my heart…hyuk hyuk.

Why am I rambling about my drink choices? WTF even is this blog? Don’t worry I have makeup looks too, I just get off on a tangent sometimes.

I’m not gonna lie, I was a little nervous to wear ABH Midnight when I bought it, but It’s somehow far more flattering and normal looking than I thought a black lipstick ever could be. I chose to wear it on a day when I wasn’t doing anything super important, so it took some of the pressure off, but it turns out I loved it! And I got a ton of compliments on it too, so basically black lipstick is normal now. And this particular black is super wearable because its got a warm base (most blacks have a blue base) so it’s a little more flattering on the skin.

Also boudoir lashes from House of Lashes are the best falsies I’ve ever worn. They may be holy grail status.

I really got into a fall groove with this look. I’m basically made of fallen leaves and nutmeg. But full disclosure, dark glossy lips are super high maintenance. They look really awesome but you better not let the wind blow your hair into your face. Or eat anything…or move at all for that matter. I kid, but these were definitely a pain in the butt. I think looks like this should probably be reserved for a night out.

This look was SO frustrating to me when I was doing it. One eye kept watering and I had to redo it like four times…it’s the eye you can’t really see here which is why the photo actually didn’t turn out too bad. The other eye was watering so much that at a certain point I couldn’t even get makeup to stick to it anymore. Does that ever happen to you, like one spot becomes a black hole for makeup? So weird. Life lesson, don’t try doing double winged liner when you have your lady times, it’s humid out, your eye keeps watering and you could probably use a snack. You will get super cranky and only realize later that you actually liked the look as a whole.

Side note, this is the Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick Version of Lolita and the formula is completely different than the dark shades. I actually felt like it was comfortable and long wearing and I have not had that experience with the darker colors that I have. I kinda get the hype now…which means I will need to be getting my hands on Bow n Arrow. The girl at the Sephora counter was wearing it last week and it looked so good on her that I wanted to give her a hug. I settled for a compliment though because I didn’t want to be a huge creeper.
