We’ve been doing enough serious talking here on the blog. Makeup looks, shaving tips, eyeliner shapes etc. etc. so forth and what have you. Not that those things aren’t fun but it’s time for some mindless window shopping and summer must haves. Realistically this is more for my mental health than yours… but a sane version of me is better for everyone involved. Trust me.

I’ve been meaning to find a toner type of thing for a while now, but I’m not gonna lie I just never feel like they do anything. I don’t know for sure that this will do anything but I do know that coconut water and argan oil are both lovely on the skin, so it has to be at least pretty decent. The description of the product says that it’s supposed to soften the skin so that your other skincare absorbs more easily, and that sounds like it makes sense to me, I’ll give this a try when I have a chance and let you guys know how I feel
So the other day I saw a girl wearing these boots in the Trader Joe’s parking lot. She had them on with skinny jeans and a tank top and a cute hat and I was like YASSSS! Gimme dat outfit! So I almost pulled one of those moves where you get really excited and chase someone down and ask where they got something, but they are always less excited and seem a little weirded out even though they’re pretending to be flattered, and then you leave feeling awkward but you only care a little because now you know where to get some cool shoes….you know that move? You know it. Lucky for me I recognized the Doc Martens tag on the back of them and I just googled “doc martens Chelsea style boot” real quick on my phone and I found them right away. Awkward conversation averted.
These definitely don’t scream summer per say but they are only ankle height and they are way slimmer than most Doc Martens so you can get away with wearing them with dresses or shorts or maybe a pair of jeans and a flowy top. Everything is summer appropriate if you try hard enough, just ask my dark lipsticks.
\\BECCA BEACH TINT LIP SHIMMER SOUFFLÉ
First of all let me say that I totally ordered that new Becca Highlighter by Jaclyn Hill as soon as it came out, my love for the glow that Becca provides is real.
So these lips soufflés are not something I would normally gravitate toward, but they caught my eye. The shimmer running through them is made of the same pigments as their beloved highlighters and that’s really what is drawing me in. I have like a vision of me wearing this on a beach day looking really glowing and highlighted and tan and having the perfectly glossed, glowing highlighted lip shade to match. I’m also wearing a hat. Not a big straw beach hat but more like a really chic felt Panama hat with a leather band on it, you know so it’s more subtle and not so obviously beachy. Also I’m drinking a something with lime and gin. Literally this is where my mind goes when I see new beauty products, I need help.
\\ BAUBLEBAR MEDUSA PEARL COLLAR
I have a few really neat collar necklaces from Baublebar and I think they make such great statements for summer. I wanted this pearl one a while back but it was on backorder at the time and I wound up getting something different. I like to throw a really cool, unexpected necklace like this pearl collar on with a t-shirt and and a pair of cut off shorts, it sorta dresses things up and makes it look like you put a lot of thought it, but really you’re just staying cool and comfy.
\\ SMASHBOX CAMERA READY BB WATER
The Smashbox Camera Ready BB and CC cream are some of my favorites for summer, so when I saw on their Instagram that they had a new BB “water” which claims to have the coverage of a BB cream but with the lightness of water on the skin, I was already sold. It looks as if it’s only available on their site at the moment but as soon as I can check it out in the store I’m all over that.
\\ BOSCIA CHARCOAL DEEP CLEANSING STICK TREATMENT
I used my Sephora points to get a Boscia Kit recently and I am literally obsessed with the way the products are making my skin look and feel. It hasn’t been this cleand and smooth and bright in a long time. It’s supposed to be a more intense version of their other charcoal cleansers in stick form (basically) and quite frankly it just looks like a lot of fun and I want to try it.
