First and foremost let me just say…I was having a weird eyebrow day in that photo. Happens to the best of us, life goes on lmao. But that highlight tho! I never used to be that person who was into the intense highlight, but lately I have been just DYING for it. I think it’s because I’ve been using so many matte lipsticks and eyeshadows and you know I’m all about that balance …and also I just want to glow like an angel. I just do, it is what it is.

But today I thought I would share a little tip that will help you take the most intense highlighters and make it like BABOOM! In your face!…and also on your face because that’s where you put it. Or you can take a highlighter that’s kinda “meh” and make it pretty damn intense too if you want.

STEP 1: Dip your brush into your highlighter of choice.

STEP 2: Dampen the brush with the highlighter already on it using a setting spray or a facial toner or something of that nature. I used Fix+ from MAC but anything that will make it damp and be nice to your skin will work. Bonus points if it’s something that contains glycerin.

STEP 3: Apply that baby to your face!

STEP 4: Wait a few seconds for it to dry and make sure you blend it out with a dry brush. Just tease the edges a bit and blend it into your skin. Nobody wants a harsh stripe of highlighter across their face. Unless you do want that. Then do you, boo.

Simple enough right? even if you don’t own any super intense highlighters, dampening whichever one you use while it’s on your brush should get you a pretty dope glow. It’s fun to make products you already have work differently isn’t it? it’s like more makeup for free! Ok that’s an exaggeration because nothing is as fun as actual new makeup, but it’s still pretty good.

I also find that applying it damp like this makes it stay on longer too, which is always nice.
