Hi Friends! I’m sitting and typing this out right now on my couch in a blanket and it’s so bleedin’ quiet in here. Except every few minutes I keep hearing yelling, thinking there’s an emergency and then remembering that it’s the Superbowl. Shut your faces, people I’m trying to get my puppy snuggle on! Ok I’ll stop complaining now. I’d better start pretending I like football and lobster before they try to kick me out of New England.
You’re probably wondering if I have any productive tips or helpful reviews to go along with all this rambling. Not today, today I just have online window shopping. Which is not as helpful but definitely a little fun.
- GroundScore NYC Snacks Ring - Never has a piece of jewelry spoken more about who I am as a person than this ring. If you know me in real life, you know I take my snacks really seriously. I’ve been known to keep single serving satchels of almond butter and various baggies of crunchy things in my purse. I saw this ring on Instagram ages ago, and I haven’t purchased it yet, but I think it’s time.
- Essie Cashmere Mattes - This is totally not something I would put on a lust list because they’re only a few bucks so I will just buy them, but every time I go to a store to get them the display is there, but it’s completely empty. WTF is that about? I even went into the Walgreen in the shady part of town to look for them. Nothing. So I’m lusting after them now due to built up anticipation. The concept is very cool though, they are muted shades that dry to a mostly matte finish, but each shade has some shimmer running through it to give it a soft cashmere like appearance. When I do find them I’m totally going for “comfy in cashmere” which is a mauvey nude and “coat couture” which is a grey-purple.
- Dagmar Chair - My apartment isn’t huge so I tried very hard to keep the furniture minimal, but it has come to my attention that there isn’t a lot of room to sit when people come over, so I’ve been on the lookout for a chair. I want something that fits the aesthetic of the room (kinda mid century- ish) but isn’t bulky so that it doesn’t clutter things up too much. I originally saw this chair on IKEA’s website, but it’s not in stock in any store I’ve checked. There is no in-stock prognosis. It’s not available online. BUT they do have a pretty much identical chair at urban outfitters for about 100 dollars more. For now I’m gonna wait it out and see if I can get my hands on the Ikea version and be frugal, but ohhhh it’s killing me. I’m terribly impatient.
- Boyfriend Jeans - Speaking of Urban Outfitters, I’m mad at them. Well, not mad. That’s dramatic, get it together, Quinn. I ordered a pair of boyfriend jeans a few weeks ago, and when my order showed up they sent me stockings instead of jeans. Stockings! How do you even make that mistake? That’s beside the point though because I called and they agreed to switch them out for me, but then the jeans went on backorder. Long story short they are no longer in stock and now they aren’t coming at all. So I need to find boyfriend jeans elsewhere. I think I’m going to try American Eagle, but I’m picky and I’m not sure if they look the way I want yet. Fashion is hard.
- Glamglow Power Mud - My skin felt gross the other day. It’s that time of the month . . .the moon blood. . .aunt flo is here and she’s messing up my face. You get the idea. My skin was dry but breaking out, and it felt gross for a few days, and I had a sample of this powermud so I gave it a try. It felt better IMMEDIATELY and all of my pimples had shrunken by the morning. Incredible. I never got the hype about Glamglow when I tried their other masks but this one really is awesome. It’s pricey though, so I’m not sure if I want to take the plunge. Maybe I’ll just get a travel size for now.
- Sam Edelman Petty Boots - I really need a plain pair of black ankle boots because all of mine have a lot going on and I need a good simple pair. I could probably find cheaper ones than this but I have had really good luck with Sam Edelman boots. They are really good quality for the price, so I think it’s worth it.
- Hourglass Modernist Palette - I wasn’t certain I wanted one of these until I swatched one at Sephora last week and holy buttery texture you guys. They feel so silky, and even with just my finger they blended beautifully. I think I want the graphite version, because it looks the most exciting but then again who doesn’t need more beautiful neutral shadows in their life? Decisions decisions.
So those are the winter must haves that are on my radar right now. Not really winter themed, but I want them and it’s winter so I’m going with it. 🙂
