If you haven’t picked up on my love for matte liquid lipsticks by now then you just haven’t been paying attention. So when the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lips came out last week I ordered some immediately, of course.
Well, they have arrived! I haven’t had time to do a proper review of how long they wear, but I know a lot of people are looking to see what these are like so I figured I better get my bum in gear and do some swatches and first impressions ASAP.
I got the colors “Potion” on the left and “Heathers” on the right.
The packaging is pretty typical. A lipgloss-esque tube with doe foot applicator. They are nice to look at for sure though. The silver cap and gold detailing are vaguely reminiscent of YSL packaging, which I really like.
I know I know less yapping, more lip swatches . . .

Anastasia Liquid Lips in Heathers
First Impressions:
So, the shades themselves are amazing. Potion is a super dark purple that’s almost black but somehow it still feels wearable. Heathers is a deep burgundy, which is always an instant winner in my book. The finish is very very matte so I recommend using some balm before applying them to avoid having your lips look dried up and wrinkly, but that goes for any matte lipstick, really.
One con that I noticed was that they are a little bit harder to work with than other matte liquid formulas that I own. They are very thick and creamy which makes them feel nice when you’re applying them, but it also makes them a little fussy. As you can see they do give an even application, but they definitely aren’t something you can slap on in a rush and head out the door with. I had to take my time and touch up the edges a few times, and make sure that it was even by going over some spots more than once (especially with Potion because it’s so dark)
As far as I can tell they don’t have much of a scent, which is fine by me. They also don’t transfer very much once they dry down, which bodes well for their wear time.
They do take longer to dry down than my Stila Liquid Lipsticks or My Lime Crime Velvetines, most likely because they are a bit creamier. But as long as you dont go eating or kissing anyone immediately after applying them you should be good money though.
Long story short, I’m happy with Anastasia beverly Hills Liquid Lips so far. Let me know if you want a full review, and I’ll definitely test the wear time and do a full rated review on them!

I really can’t get over how offensively ugly those two colors look in the first picture, in the tube. Maybe its just my screen? — but they look like hemmorhoid pink and periwinkle/lavender…. I picture myself being pitched different timeshare options by some lovely Florida septuagenarian wearing these colors sartorially.
But on the real they look gorg once applied.
P.S. I can never understand how some of these posts have ZERO comments, whereas I regularly come across some blogs so boring that their boring gravity field has actually collapsed into a supermassive black hole of boring, and yet its just flooded with comments. Maybe its just a bunch of equally boring people though who have had the misfortune to cross over the boring event horizon, into the dull unknown, lost forever.
I don’t even wear makeup- I have not one but three little 10 lb men who need that morning time for snuggles and “what a good boy” reassurances.
whoops, that should have said — i dont even wear make up, and i still read every update to this damned blog!

This comment made me literally LOL. Hemorrhoid pink! I love it. They definitely look weird in the tube, I think the reflection of the plastic gives them sort of a pale pasty appearance. If I hadn’t seen them on Instagram first I would have been very hesitant hahahaha
I’m not sure why some posts don’t get a ton of comments, but yours was so funny it made up for it! Thank you so much.
