There’s nothing like the feeling of freshly washed hair . . .and by that I mean that it sucks. OK it doesn’t suck, but my freshly washed hair is not easy to work with.

Mmmm fresh and clean and like a limp friggin’ noodle. Fantastic.

If you feel like fresh hair is limp hair then you may be perpetually on the hunt for ways to add some texture. Fortunately there are ways to add texture on “day one” to make it seems a little bit more like “day two”.

One way to do this is with a product like Oribe Dry Texture Spray which works beautifully, but at 42 dollars for a full sized bottle, I seriously just can’t buy that all the time. I have a lot of hair, do you know how fast that sh*t will run out? SO fast.

Oribe dry texture spray works a bit like a dry shampoo mixed with a light hair spray . . .so guess what my solution is.

Dry shampoo and hairspray! Surprise!

I use my usual batiste dry shampoo and my moroccan oil hairspray. You can probably use another hair spray thats more budget friendly but make sure that it’s medium hold, non-sticky and workable (meaning you can brush through it)

The process is really simple and it goes a little something like this:

Apparently this take a great deal of concentration.

Start by spraying your dry shampoo in all the areas where you need more volume and texture. For me it’s mainly at the roots, so that’s where I’m concentrating it. If you need more volume in the lengths of your hair you can do this same process in that area as well.

I spray it on there pretty liberally, because even if it gives me white granny roots the hair spray will get rid of that.

Next step, just repeat the same process in the same areas with your hair spray.

Make sure that you hold it pretty far from your head, and don’t go overboard. You want to get a little bit of added hold and texture but not so much that it get’s crunchy or weird looking.

And just like that, no more limp hair! When you’re done you should have some added volume and it should be a bit more workable and have some more grit and grip like “day two” hair. You can leave it as is or style it as you wish. Good news is that this also keeps it from getting greasy a little longer too because you’re basically pre-loading it with dry shampoo. Winning!
