Around the holidays things start getting pretty spendy, so I think it’s good to take a moment to focus on some beauty bargains. Today I have for you the bargain to end all bargains actually, because not only are these little guys especially cheap but they also do ten thousand different things. Yup, that many.

These unassuming little beauties are disposable mascara wands and they kick ass. Here is an (incomplete and ever expanding) list of things that I use them for:

• Spray hairspray on them and use them to comb and tame my eyebrows when I don’t want to fill them in.
• Spray hairspray on them and use them to comb and tame baby hairs around my hairline
• Let your mascara get clumpy? Comb through them with one of these to separate and fan them out again. It works best if they’re still wet.
• Get a little crazy and draw your eyebrows on like Cruella de Vil? Comb through them with a clean disposable wand to blend out the lines and make them more natural.
• For makeup artists these are an absolute must for hygienic purposes. You don’t want to be glamming people up and handing out eye infections.
• Sometimes I even use them to help loosen bits of stubborn waterproof mascara when I’m removing my makeup. I remove what I can and then if there is some left at the base of the lashes I comb through with one of these to loosen it up and then use my coconut oil again. Works like a charm.

That’s only the tip of the iceberg really. I just wrote down what came to mind, but I know there are a ton more things I use them for as well.

You can get curved ones or straight ones and some are fluffier or stiffer than others but in general they all do the same job. I do find that the fluffier, straight ones are better for taming and blending eyebrows and the curved ones are better for fanning out clumpy lashes. If you’re actually using them to apply mascara then that’s a different story, but you probably know what shape you prefer for that. You can find a ton of different varieties on amazon and they are seriously so so cheap, so you’ll most definitely find the one that works best for you at a good price.
