Er.Mer.Gerd. Fall is coming. Which means fall lipsticks are coming. I love fall lipsticks and fall fashions more than any other season so this excites my soul. I’m in the process of gathering my must have fall lipstick colors, but in the meantime I felt the need to review the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in “Gothica” because well . . .freakin’ look at it
I’m not even usually into glittery lips but this one just has something about it. Not to mention that it just screams fall. And it smells like vanilla, yum.
The packaging is really cool. It’s edgy but still feminine and not too too over the top. It also feels nice and sturdy, closes well and generally seems to be of good quality.
There is a little gif I made to sorta illustrate for you how it looks when it’s moving around in the sunlight a bit. It’s really fun and metallic looking. That’s all well and good, but the brand claims that this has insanely long “10 Hour wear” So how did it perform?
It applied well. I was surprised that it didn’t feel super gritty on the lips considering that it’s so glittery. I touched the edges up with a brush because I have lipstick OCD issues, but it can be applied straight from the tube without much issue. It also went on pretty evenly in one swipe.
After an hour and a cup of coffee, still looking really good. Went to pick up packages from the front office of the building and the lady there complimented it so thats fun! Although she might have just been compensating for staring since I was wearing glitter lipstick and gym clothes, but oh well.
Four hours in I ate dinner. It was going really strong up until this point. From 1 hour of wear right up until dinner it looked essentially the same. At this point If I were out I would want to reapply it, but it wears away pretty gracefully so I wouldn’t feel self conscious if I couldn’t sneak in a touchup either.
At six hours there was not much left but a faint glitter mustache, and some sprinkles of glitter on my bottom lip. But I guess if I had to have a mustache, a glitter mustache is a good option.
So basically, this didn’t last 10 hours, but it did last very well for a traditional bullet-style lipstick. If I had to compare I would say the wear time is similar to MAC’s Matte lipsticks.
Overall I like it a lot. It didn’t last the amount of time they described, but I feel like I’ll probably never be in a situation where I can’t touch up for ten entire hours anyway. And the color . . .makes my heart go pitter patter.
Have you guys tried any of the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick ? What did you think?

Dude, that’s so I pretty, I can’t even. Did you find drying? A lot of the other shades are coming up short in that department so I was curious if this one is an exception.
Love your blog! 🙂
I know it’s SO nice right??
I didn’t find it especially drying. I would say it’s on par with most other matte and glitter lipsticks in that department. It’s not balmy or moisturizing but I don’t feel like my lips are dead after wearing it either, lol! I did read a lot of complaints about the other shades so I was really glad I liked this one.
Thanks Jenn! <3
