I have a confession, my nails are never nudes. They wear denim shorts in the shower, they are never unpainted and I RARELY wear nude polish. I always feel like when I wear nude polish my hands look like dead zombie hands. Mannequin hands are ok, they look elegant and sophisticated. Zombie hands just aren’t cute though.
Generally I avoid nude-nudes and steer more toward not quite nude neutrals, but recently I spied swatches of Butter London “Tea With The Queen” and I just had a feeling it would be the best nude nail polish for me. So I bought it in hopes that I might finally achieve those non-zombie mannequin hands after all these tries and . . . I LOVE IT!
It has just enough warmth that it doesn’t make my hands look dead and ashen, but is still nude enough that it gives that long, ladylike effect. As with most great nude nail colors it also blends well with any outfit from edgy to formal, so you can put it on and not worry that it will look crasy crasy with anything you are planning to wear. It’s like the perfect nude pumps of nails! It makes me feel so put together.
My one and only gripe is that it did take three coats to become completely opaque, but the formula is nice and thin so three coats wasn’t goopy and didn’t take a million years to dry so it’s not THAT big a deal. Overall I think I found the best nude nail polish . . .for me anyway. I’m sure there are other nudes that work great for different skin tones. But I honestly think this shade would look pretty on most!
Do you have a favorite nude nail polish?
