There are days when I work from home all day, and I barely see another human. On those days I don’t bother wearing makeup because it’s just a waste. There are other days where I’m constantly out in public and then I go all out and do the full face treatment. But then there are those weird in between days where I sorta don’t need to look made up, but I’m out doing some errands and I don’t want to look completely undone, and those days are a little more confusing to me.

Usually I opt to apply a BB or CC cream, throw on a little mascara, do my brows (of course) and a shiny balm on the lips. But what about my under eyes? If I leave them with just BB cream they look a little . . .worse for wear if you know what I mean. If I put full coverage concealer on, then I feel like I may as well go ahead and do the whole face. This, my friends is why the idea of a BB eye cream intrigued me.

I chose the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Eye Cream for two reasons. The first one being that I already use their CC cream from this line, and I love it. It’s seriously incredible. The second reason was because to be quite honest, I wanted to try the Dior BB Eye Cream and I couldn’t bring myself to spend that much on it. I don’t know why but I just couldn’t do it.

Well I’m glad I did because I have been getting a ton of use out of this stuff. It has just enough coverage to help me look like I’m alive, but is still light enough to dab on with the built in brush and then blend in with my fingers.

I also find that the finish is just dewy enough to look fresh but not shiny. In other words just a little less dewy than an actual BB cream. It also sets to a firmer finish than a Regular BB Cream so it doesn’t crease under the eyes.

I also use it from time to time as a highlight color when I do a full face of foundation, and it works really nicely that way as well.

Long story short, I can’t compare it to the Dior version, but I sure do like it. It has managed to make it’s way into my regular rotation. If you have tried the Dior one, is it mind blowing enough to Spend 45 bucks on it? If it is, maybe I can suck it up and buy it to do a comparison, let me know!
