DAY 8!
Yay it’s day 8 of my “12 days of holiday makeup inspiration”
There are only 10 days left until christmas…I’ll let the panic sink in for a second and give you some time to run out and get 20 things that you just realized you won’t have time for next week…
You’re back? OK let’s talk about today’s lip look.
Today I took the classic red lip, and just added a little bit of interest to it by layering a gold glitter lipstick over it. It gives is a pretty, metallic sheen, without being really glossy and thick.
Less glossy but still metallic and shiny is great because it is a lot more comfortable to wear, and it stay’s on a bit longer, but it still looks shiny and festive, hoorah!
To get this look I used my favorite red combination, which is Urban Decay “Gash” lipliner under “Russian Red” lipstick by MAC.
Then over that I layered MAC Ruffian Gold lipstick…which is essentially gold micro glitter in a clear lipstick base. It’s amazing, it even looks beautiful with nothing under it…BUT it was limited edition. You can still get it on amazon, which I will link below, but it is more than the original price by a lot.
Another option is to buy OCC Lip Tar in the color Super NSFW. It is the same effect, but all together in the form of a single liquid lipstick…I haven’t gotten my hands on a tube of it yet, but you bet your buns I will!
Lip Tars are amazing, and the tube will last you a bazillion years because you need like a sub-atomic speck that can only be seen under electron microscope to cover your whole lip….OH and they stay on for ridiculously long.
I like lip tars, if you haven’t noticed.
Well…as my Grandma used to say “Time doesn’t be long goin’ in”… In other words go get crackin’ on wrapping your presents and planning your outfits and whatever, because the time will pass before you know it! At least you’ll have your makeup all sorted out. (you’re welcome)
