Happy Friday, guys! It has been an exciting week or two since the last FridayFaces post!
My birthday was this week, and to be honest I normally don’t like to make a big deal of these things, it’s just another day ya know? But this year was a little different. As a complete surprise all of my closest friends and family drove over 4 hours from New York and showed up to my house one by one. The effort and the plotting that must have went into that just blow my mind. It was shocking and funny and awesome and it made me feel really loved and grateful. When your best friend rings your doorbell at midnight and you think it’s a murderer and then you see your favorite person and fall on the floor laughing, you know its gonna be a good birthday.
On top of that there have been some fun makeup looks! I have been really into experimenting with lip art on Instagram. I never really knew that I liked doing it so much, but it has been a super fun thing to have a go at…not to mention this marble lip look that you see below, Kat Von D herself liked it. Yeah, I was floored. I’m not gonna lie I peed myself a little and then ran around the house and then died of excitement and then came back to life. Two out of those three things were an exaggeration. I’ll let you decide which.
The key to doing lip art without making a mess is to use a liquid lipstick and make sure it 100 percent dries before you start to draw more stuff on top. Also, don’t be afraid to break the rules and use eye and face products to achieve the look.

The next look is extra exciting because it’s with my new BLONDE HAIR! Just joking it’s my sister. I don’t have blonde hair, or these bright blue eyes that look SO pretty with a bronze smokey look. Like beautiful pools of tropical water, what a lucky lil brat. Actually she’s lucky with her whole face who are we kidding?
It was fun to work on her because even though we do look alike, her features are still really different than mine and it’s been a while since I faced that challenge.

I finally learned the trick to extending the cat eye on the inner corner of the eye. I tried to explain on Instagram, and I’ll explain again now but I feel like might need to make a video because describing it is hard. The easiest way to do it is apply your liner with an angle brush and when its time to extend the inner corner, flip the brush around from how you usually use it and use the long side. Its the perfect thickness and gives the right amount of flick. That still feels unclear maybe I’ll just do a quick video soon.
Also, This is one of the new Colourpop Ultra Satin Lipsticks, and the formula is strange but I think I really like it so far. It dries down but only a little so it stays on really well and feel comfortable, but it will transfer. Strange, but so far I really like wearing it.

The last look, I’m not gonna lie I was a little nervous about wearing because red is a hard color to pull off on the eye, but to be honest I kinda love it! As I mentioned on Instagram I think the key is to go with a really dark waterline so you dont accentuate the red of your natural waterline and end up looking like you have a black eye or a disease or something.
