I was waiting, just creeping behind the scenes impatiently waiting for thanksgiving to pass so I could unleash my holiday makeup looks onto the world. And its tiiiiiiime!
Well, one of these looks is from before thanksgiving, but the other two…festive AF.
So generally when I write these posts I will include a little quip about what I was doing when I wore the look. But for the last two weeks my looks were pre-photographed because I was away. So when they were taken I was applying makeup just for the photos and most of the time I just applied it, took photos and then like cooked dinner or folded the laundry or something. Not exactly riveting content. I guess I could write about what I did the day that I posted each look on Instagram, but I literally have no idea on which day I did what anymore.
But for a quick recap of what I’ve been up to I went home to visit family for Thanksgiving. When I first arrived my mom and I tried to experiment and get the ends of my hair to be a deep charcoal gray color (my mom is a colorist, so I’m not just some crazy lady who thought anyone could do that, just FYI) and it did NOT work out. So I wound up coloring it a nice deep dark brown (almost black TBH) and although it wasn’t Plan A I kinda really love it. It feels really polished and glam. My hair isn’t even super damaged from it either…but more on how I pulled that off in a later post.
I also got a really great massage at Great Jones Spa in New York. I’ve been dealing with lower back and hip pain for a while and they sorted me right out. It was really impressive…not to mention that place is SO cool. Open brick and water features in one place is basically house goals. Oh! and they were burning these Illume Balsam & Cedar Candles that literally smell like if you spent Christmas at a spa, so I bought one of those for my bedroom. They’re a little pricey for a candle but whatever, treat yo self.
Ok so first look, not festive holiday makeup but still fun. This is my favorite go-to lip combo for daytime lately btw. If you are on the pale side and looking for a rosey-neutral lip that goes with a lot of looks then write this one down.

And then, the festive floodgates opened….full disclosure I did this look like a week before thanksgiving but I had to hold in the festive fun until black Friday and it was not easy. Especially because I was so in love with both this eyeshadow and these lashes, and the lipstick combination too. I loved the whole thing, ok? Gosh!
