Ok sorry for the tangent. Happy Friday, friendlies! How you guys doin? I literally just realized that I have one week before I leave for a ten day trip home to New York for Thanksgiving. I’m really pumped because there are some super fun plans in the works but I’m also a little freaked because I need to have content ready to go before I leave so you don’t all think that I died or something. So I took a bunch of supplements that help with concentration (no not any sorta weird drugs, quinnface don’t fux with that) and drank a coffee and a triple espresso and I am ready to rock and roll…or more accurately sing MJ and get sh*t donnnnne son!

I broke out my Studded Kiss Lipstick in Bauhau5 and man I forgot how much I like this lip color! It’s that sorta matte that has a hint of translucency, which you would think would make it patchy but instead it gives this really sexy sorta flushed look. And as I’ve already said a thousand times the Kat Von D Studded Kiss formula is awesome. It’s the only bullet lipstick formula that I accept in my life these days. Also, I’ve been digging a little more arch in the brows lately, what do you guys think? Do you go for a straight brow or something more arched? I mean I know the arch gives me more of a resting bitch face than ever, but I’m not mad at it.

For a change of pace I did a little day to night transition look. I mean in real life I do this all the time but I decided to actually photograph both versions this time around. I wore this look on me and my husbands first anniversary. So during the day we just had a nice little day and walked around and shopped and got coffee and stuff, but then we went out for a fancypants dinner at night so I had to step my game up a little.

I just added some darker colors from the same Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette, touched up the face a little and added a darker lip. Normally I would have added lashes as well for the nighttime look but I spent too much time deciding what sweater to wear and I ran out of time. It was probably more comfy this way anway.

We went for dinner in the restaurant at the inn we got married in, and they have a nice little bonfire bar outside and stuff. Fun story our wedding photographer had us take photos by that very same bonfire and the cinders nearly set my dress on fire. We narrowly avoided disaster so many times that night, but that’s a story for another day.

I also wore Stila Fiery at our reception, so I thought it was appropriate to wear it again for our anniversary dinner. Jeez I’m a sap huh? Gross. Get it together, Nicole.

I call this sorta look “color for people who hate color” not that I hate color but sometimes I hate color on my own face, specifically on my eyes. To mitigate this issue I just add a pretty jewel tone in one small area of the eye look so that way it has some impact but I also don’t feel like a clown. If you have a hard time incorporating color give this a try, it’s a good way to do it without overwhelming yourself. Also, always put a neutral in the crease to tone down color. Works like a charm.

I wore this look to go see a movie with some fraaaands. We saw Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse. Loved it. My husband loves horror, I love super immature comedies aimed at tweenage boys, so a “zom-com” is a recipe for a good cinematic experience for us. As a matter of fact Shaun Of The Dead and Zombieland are easily in my top ten movies of all time. At least I’m consistent.

Getting back to makeup, I own way too many muted rosey nude liquid lipsticks, like it’s getting stupid, but let me tell you if you are looking for one that is perfection for day to day wear ABH Dusty Rose is everything. It’s like pretty and sexy but muted enough to go with literally any look you can throw at it. If you are trying to figure out which of the big popular rosey colors to go with and you’re only gonna pick one, I totally recommend Dusty Rose.
