Oh man you guys…holiday stuff is pretty. Like they package the things we already want up in these nice gift boxes and then they say “buy this for someone else” and I’m over here like…
To be fair I also want to buy them for everyone else too, I’m not that selfish. But at the same time when I see holiday must haves and gift guides and presents all wrapped up shiny and offering things that smell good and pamper you and make you pretty, I wind up buying one as a gift and one for me. Sh*t I guess that’s probably exactly what they want huh? Damn it beauty industry, you got me. You got me good.
Whether you are shopping for yourself or for someone else, or both #pleasenojudgementsthankyousomuch I gathered five of the things that have caught my eye recently, so you can add them to your holiday gift list if you happen to fancy them too. I think you might, they’re good.
- Tartelette Palette // This is not new for holiday, but I think it would make a great gift for a makeup lover, or a great staple for most people to buy for themselves. I wasn’t initially called to this palette because I felt like it might be chalky, but after hearing so many good things about it I decided to swatch it at Ulta. It’s super creamy and blendable and not chalky at all, and it has a ton of great basic mattes. If you’re really interested in dat new new though, they just came out with the Tartelette 2 which has some gorgeous shimmers and metallics, so thats also a great gifting option.
- T3 Interchangeable Styling Wand // This thing is beautiful, has great reviews and it’s expensive AF. So it’s either a great thing to splurge on for yourself or a great thing to give as a larger gift to really knock someones socks off. I mean I personally have a really hard time spending 270 bucks on a hair tool for myself, and I’m insane when it comes to beauty things. Therefore I bet most people wouldn’t buy this for themselves and would love it as a gift.
- Nest Holiday Candle // You know that person in your social circle who keeps a really carefully decorated house, and you want to get a gift to bring to their party but you dont want to offend their sensibilities with something they hate? …Halfway through typing that sentence I realized I’m probably that person in my social circle. That just lends credence to my opinion on this though. You can’t go wrong with one of these nest holiday candles. They look special and “gifty” because of the packaging and they will blend nicely with almost any type of decor. They also smell divine. Can’t go wrong.
- Laura Mercier Sweet Temptation Gift Set // You may know Laura Mercier for their amazing makeup products ( I meaaaaan Silk Cream foundation, good googly moogly) but their luxury bath products are pretty incredible. That Milk Honey Bath That You Drizzle in with the little honey wand thing…now that’s pampering. Probably doesn’t change the efectivness of the product but half the relaxation comes from making the experience feel special, ya know? This is definitely a great treat-yo-self set, or a perfect gift for someone who needs to treat themselves but probably won’t unless you buy it for them.
Hope you gave you some ideas if you are starting your shopping this week, I’ll definitely be back with some more extensive gift guides in the weeks to come!
