Choosing a blush can be a very delicate dance. Most of the time you want enough color so that you look healthy and alive, but not so much color that you interfere with your eye or lip colors. Clashing isn’t cute, so more color than a corpse but less than a clown, ya know? Unless of course your going for a blush focused look, but on a day to day basis I don’t think that’s often the case.
I find that it can be especially hard to find a balance if you are on the fair side like myself because anything too bright can be too much, so I figured I would swatch for you all my top three subtle blush colors. These aren’t just for fair girls, I have used all of these on several different skin tones and really loved them, but I would say very deep skin tones might find them a little bit too subtle, just a heads up.
To make sure that our subtle blush wardrobe is versatile we want something that is a cool pink-ish, something more warm or peachy and something more red based. At least that’s what I find you need to compliment most looks. If you stick with one staple makeup look all the time and know what color family of blush works for you then you probably don’t need that many…but c’mon you want options. Don’t lie. Lucky for you I have just the pick for all three.
All three of these colors are subtle enough that you would have to put in work to make them look clownish and yet they all add a nice flush of color to the skin, which is generally a pretty good recipe for some poppin’ ass cheeks. They are also super good quality so they apply evenly and last all day, especially if you use a setting spray. I mean what’s the point of a nice color if it applies and wears like caca, right?
So if you have been struggling to find a go-to subtle blush, maybe give one of these a try. And of course let me know in the comments if you have a go-to that I need to know about 😉
