A few things start to happen to my beauty and fashion routine when spring rolls around: I want my makeup to stay in place when it’s hot and humid. I want easy ways to make my hair look cute when it is, again, hot and humid. I want glowy, pretty skin that doesn’t feel heavy. And I want fun accessories because wearing less layers means I need them to make my outfits more interesting.
So I’ve been trolling the internet (surprise surprise) and I’ve come up with some spring must haves (or “must tries” perhaps?) which will most likely make their way into my online shopping cart sooner or later.
- Urban Decay Ultimate Ozone Pencil - I used to have the original version of this pencil which was in the form of a 24/7 pencil which is much thinner, and really only suited for use on the lips. But the formula was really awesome. This version is meant to do it all. Lips, eyes, skin, blemishes. If it’s as good as it sounds then it will be perfect to help keep some pinpoint concealing, and sweet ass eye liner in place in the hot weather.
- CoverFX Custom Cover Drops - For some reason when I first saw these I was like “meh” but the more I see about how they work, the more I think I may need some in my life. They are meant to mix into primers or moisturizers to make a custom, light base OR you can add it to your foundation for extra coverage. One review even said they dabbed it on a pimple and it covered like an ultra light weight concealer. The more I think about it the more I think I like the idea of customizing my base with some drops.
- Kate Somerville Exfolikate - I have gotten so many samples and trial sizes of this stuff that for a while I never thought to buy it because they just kept coming, but now they stopped coming and I miss it! It’s a pretty intense scrub and it has an odd sort of tingle to it, but I really feel that it makes a big difference when I use it regularly. Like I said earlier, I like to have my skin look nice without a ton of makeup when the weather is warm so keeping up with skincare is very important. It’s pretty intense stuff though so if you have sensitive skin I would try to get my hands on a sample before you go full size. I mean it’s not cheap, but good skincare rarely is.
- Sephora Vacationer Makeup Bag - So I have this whole fantasy vacation planned in my head. I’m not joking, I literally bought a beach cover up for it the other day and I have made zero actual plans. I think it’s because my husband and I never went on a honeymoon after our wedding, we got too caught up in buying a house first. So basically I’m planning my belated honeymoon…and I need a new travel makeup bag. Mine is gross and putting my beautiful makeup in it makes me mad. The vacationer bag from sephora (which comes in that cream and rose gold, as well as black) looks like it’s just the right size, it has compartments for brushes and its very simple and classy looking, which I like. I don’t like to get creative with my luggage, I like it all very sleek and clean and organized.
- H&M Drawstring Bucket Bag - I used to have this really cool, dark royal blue bucket bag. At the time bucket bags weren’t really a big trend, but I knew my bag was the sh*t, and it was super convenient. It fit a lot inside, and the way it hung on the back of the shoulder sort of like a backpack but not ALL the way on your back was casual but still ladylike if that makes sense. I loved it dearly but that was a long time ago, and I literally wore that bag into the ground so it’s long gone. Nowadays bucket bags are everywhere and I’m starting to remember why I loved it so much. This time around I want to go a little sleeker (you know cuz I’m so mature and sophisticated now ::Giant Eye Roll::) and this H&M version is both sleek and affordable.
- Braided Trim Felt Panama Hat - I’ve never been one for summer hats, but I wear winter hats and I love the convenience and added source of accessories…so why am I not wearing summer hats? I think a felt Panama hat like this one would be easy to work into the wardrobe. It kinda goes with anything and it’s nothing too over the top so I won’t feel weird the first ew times I wear it. I’m gonna make summer hats a thing, are you guys with me? Do you already wear summer hats? Can we start a summer hat support group? I need support from my fraaaands!
So those are my spring must haves…must tries…must buys?…it’s a bunch of stuff I want. Leave me a comment and let me know what you’re eyeballing, I don’t like to be left out! 🙂
