I almost didn’t put this post up today, because I have been doing really quick makeup lately for the most part and I felt like that was maybe not super inspiring. Then again I thought about it, and makeup ideas come in all shapes and sizes! You guys need everyday inspiration and ideas as much ( actually maybe MORE) than really innovative, glam makeup looks, so I’m going with it.

Also, this is a great opportunity to write more chatty posts and I like telling you guys all about the life that goes along with the looks, so here it is. And if it’s too boring for you…sorry bout it. Try again next time.

This day was one of those days where I left the house thinking I looked like a pile of garbage, and then everywhere I went somebody gave me a compliment. I left the house thinking I was a wreck and by the time I got home I was feelin’ myself. I even bought a bottle of wine and the lady said my ID photo was beautiful LOL.

Just goes to show that the way we perceive ourselves is often very much off base. Life is complicated, le sigh…

Enough of that, let’s talk makeup. Sometimes when I know my makeup is going to be simple I like to create interest by using a cool color palette on the eyes and a warm one on the lips or vice versa. So in this example it was the cool neutrals of the Naked3 for a wash of color on the lid with Stila Beso lipstick on the lips. It’s a quick way to add interest to a very simple look.

First of all, I want to say how happy I am that I can still get my hair into a bun even though it’s shoulder length. I was really worried at first because sometimes I need to pile it all on top of my head and get it out of the way, lest I go all 2007 Britney and lose my mind and shave it all off .

I didn’t get any close ups of this look, because let’s get real, they just weren’t necessary. It’s the simplest. But I wanted to show you guys some photos of it because it’s such a good example of what I do when I need to look sort of together but I just can’t fathom a long getting ready process.

BB Cream, bronzer, brows, healthy pinkish nude lip and winged eyeliner. If you get really, really good at winged liner and you can do it fast, it’s an instant way to make it look like you put in effort. Seriously, practice that sh*t and get so good at it that you can do it super fast and you’ll never look like a mess again, that’s a quinnface promise.

This look is certainly not groundbreaking, but I did like it, and can we talk for a second about that inner rim color?! Its NYX, so it’s cheap and it’s the most metallic gold pencil eyeliner I have ever used. It also lasted on my waterline the entire day. That’s is what I’ve been looking like lately, in a nutshell. Hopefully the simple ones give you some makeup ideas for those days where you want to look cute quickly. I wish I could say I will be getting more creative now, but I’m going to be traveling this week so I will probably be super minimal, but I’m excited to go home to New York.
