Guess what! It’s 2015. And it’s time to make some beauty resolutions for the year.
You know what’s funny is I never make regular resolutions because I think we should all be pushing ourselves toward self improvement all the time, not just on the first day of the year, BUT I just checked last year’s post and I kept most of the new year beauty resolutions that I made. Maybe I should make some regular resolutions this year too because obviously I’m super good at it. . .or maybe publishing them to the internet made me feel more accountable. Who knows.
- Focus on Skincare - I’ve already started this one so I guess that’s sorta cheating but I really want to learn more about skincare, and spend my money and time focusing on making sure that my skin is in tip top shape. I’m not trying to say that I’m starting to look old or anything, but as I cruise through my late twenties It’s definitely something I’m beginning to think about more. I mean in ten tears it’s not gonna matter if I can still apply a perfect cat eye if it’s being covered by my drooping eyelids and even with my favorite foundation on I don’t feel so hot when I have a breakout, ya know what I mean?
- Moisturize My Body More - I feel like I’ve said this before. I need to focus on making sure I moisturize my body more. I hate feeling sticky when get dressed so I skip it more often than I should.
- Be More Adventurous With Eye Makeup - I’m super adventurous with lip colors, but the last few years have been neutral city on my eyes. I guess that’s ok, I mean we all like what we like, but I think it would be in my best interest creatively to try to add a pop of color in here and there. I’m never going to be someone who likes to wear a big, brightly colored eye look all the time, but I think a little pop of color in the waterline would serve me well now and then.
- Practice More On Other People - I haven’t done any freelance work in a while and I feel like I need to make an effort to keep up my skills at applying makeup to other people. I did a friends makeup for New Year’s Eve and while it came out really well I do feel like I was slower to get it done than I used to be. Practice makes perfect, so I want to keep the skills sharp.
- Learn To Do A Round Brush Blow Dry - My greatest beauty weakness is that I can’t do a round brush blow dry. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’ve watched every tutorial and tried 87 different ways but I still haven’t nailed it. This year I’m going to practice and I’m GOING to nail it.
Now that 2014 is in the bag and 2015 is here just waiting for me to own it’s face off, these are the things that I will be trying to improve in my own beauty routine. Do you make new year beauty resolutions? Tell me what they are! You never know, maybe I was on to something with that whole “publish it to the internet and hold yourself accountable” thing. 😉
