I really enjoy coming up with little nail art ideas, and I’ve been playing around recently with some spring nail designs. But sometimes when I post them I feel silly because they aren’t very complicated. Then I remind myself that things don’t have to be complicated to look cool, and sometimes all people need is a little inspiration. . .at least that’s how I feel. You guys agree right? Of course you do. So here are some of my recent nail doodles.
This first one is SUPER easy, but I think the color and texture combination is really cool. I did two coats of the chrome color, which is OPI “Push and Shove” and then dotted on some JulieG Nail Polish in Bikini with a nail art brush. I really should buy a dotting tool, I don’t know why I haven’t already.
The chrome color specifies not to use a topcoat, but that works out great because the JulieG color dries to a kind of satin finish and the difference in texture makes it much more interesting methinks!
In case you were thinking that this looks like 80’s wallpaper, that’s not where I drew my inspiration from. I drew my inspiration from this shirt that I picked up at H&M last week . . .which also looks like 80’s wallpaper. Dammit.
Well to make my wallpaper shirt nails I laid down two coats of Zoya’s “Brigitte” and then made the little squiggle pods (which is the official scientific name for those) with a black nail art pen. Little tip for you, if you are using a nail art pen, make sure you wait until the base polish is completely dry before you start to draw on your nails. Otherwise you’ll have a nasty, dented mess on your hands. Literally.
For a topcoat I used Essie 3 way glaze because I’m out of my beloved Formula X one, but it did the trick.
I saw something like this on Pinterest, and I would love to link to the original source but I pin way too much and I can’t find it now! My name is Nicole and I’m a pinaholic. But yeah it was similar, except probably better than mine and I think the stripes were on the tips. If you know who did it or if it was YOU who did it, let me know and I will add a link!
So for the base I used two coats of OPI “Jade is the New Black” and for the stripes I used another Model’s own nail art pen in a minty green color. Basically this looks a lot like cartoon grass, but not in a super obvious way, and it was very easy to achieve. Fun fun fun.
So those are my easy spring nail designs!
Do you have any cool new nail ideas?
