12 days of holiday makeup Day 11!!
So second to last day! I know, where did the time go? If you’re like me you are probably terribly busy this week, so I will keep it short and simple for you. Today I did a dark green smokey eye. It is the same color green I used for my green winged liner look. This green seems so appropriate because it is a dark green that has just a hint of blue to it, and it reminds me SO much of the color of christmas trees.
Why am I blabbing on about trees? You have things to do.
Step 1- Apply your favorite eyeshadow primer and then cover your whole lid, lash line to brow, in a matte shadow OR a face powder that is roughly the same shade as your natural skin tone. This will make it a lot easier to blend the darker colors.
Step 2- Use a dense brush to push a dark green shadow onto your entire mobile lid and right up through your crease. Use a smaller smudging brush to drag this color under your lower lash line.
Step 3- With the dense brush, use a dark charcoal or black shadow and pat it onto the outer corner of your lid and into the outer 1/3 of the crease.
Step 4- With a clean blending brush buff the edges of the black and the green in soft circular motions to smoke it out a bit. As usual if you have a hard time deciding what shape to make your smokey eye, try to mimic the shape of your eyebrow.
Step 5- Take a matte bronzer on the same blending brush and blend it into the edges of the lid colors. This will warm it up and give it a nice transition.
Step 6- Take a black eyeliner pencil and run it along the outer half of your upper lash line. Pick up a bit more of the black or charcoal shadow on the smudging brush and use it to smudge that black liner into the green shadow.
Step 7- Use the same black eyeliner and line your top AND bottom waterlines. Lining the top waterline (or tight line) will ensure that there aren’t any spots where pink flesh is still peeking through. Use the smudging brush to blend the black from the bottom waterline into the green just a bit.
Step 8- Take a shimmery, grey-ish taupe eyeshadow and with a clean eyeshadow brush, pat it gently on the center of the mobile lid and into the corner of the eye on the tear duct area. make sure you use the brush to gently blend the edges of the taupe just the tiniest bit to make a smooth transition into the green, but don’t over blend! This step will brighten up the eye and add dimension on the lid.
Then just curl your lashes, and add mascara on the top and bottom, and it’s done!
I hope your week is going well so far, and for those who haven’t seen it, check out my youtube channel, subscribe and maybe throw a few thumbs up my way! I’ll put a link down below. And stay tuned because I filmed a holly jolly christmas nail art tutorial today, which will be up for your viewing pleasure tomorrow!
