So here we are, Day 2 of my holiday makeup inspiration series! Today I have a lovely lip look for all of you.
During the holidays there is a lot of emphasis on red lips, and for obvious reasons, but there are some girls who don’t feel comfortable in red and prefer to stick to pinks. This look is for you ladies!
Believe it or not I was inspired by the packaging on the Tarte holiday sets of all things. I actually ordered the “Carried Away” set which has similar packaging but with purple and gold, yay!
Alas… it’s technically a gift so I must wait patiently for it ::sigh::
The gold and pink packaging just looks so rich and glam and “holiday” even though it isn’t traditional holiday colors, which got me thinking of this look.
I simply applied a bright pink matte lip and patted a gold eyeshadow on the center and the cupids bow. I used OCC Lip Tar in “Queen” which is very bright and bold, but you can use just about any pretty matte or semi-matte pink that you like!
For the gold I simply used the Urban Decay Eyeshadow “Blitz” from the my Vice Palette, which I patted in gently with my ring finger. You can use any gold shadow or loose pigment.
You could even use glitter if you are feeling extra feisty, but I find glitter uncomfortable on the lips
When you use shadow over lipstick, it’s important to pat it on and never rub. Rubbing will cause it to mix into the lip color rather than sit on the top, and it will just look like a muddy mess. Ain’t nothin’ holiday glam about that!
