Summer is a weird time for makeup. Part of me doesn’t want to wear anything at all and part of me want to rely on sweet makeup to make up for the simple outfits I’m wearing in the heat. Thats why trendy summer lip colors are so important, because it’s an easy and fairly comfortable way to say “Hey guys! I’m still with it over here! Check out these lips, poppin’ AF right? Ok Carry on”

To up the comfort factor, instead of only including my normal liquid lipsticks I also included some oil/balm formulas. I find liquid lipsticks pretty comfy but I know a lot of people don’t so for those folks…I still gotchu don’t you worry.

• Lancome Juicy Shaker // Vanilla Pop - These are fairly new and not something I would normally go crazy for, but something about the finish of them is just so gorgeous. They are definitely really hydrating which is nice because you can condition your lips while also looking fly. The little applicator is like a glorious squishy marshmallow that feels like a massage for your lips while you apply it. The colors are all very sheer, so it’s not meant for a bold look but that does mean they’re very forgiving to apply on the go.
• Tarte Lippie Lingerie // Bare - I used to love the Tarte Matte lip tints and then I sort of grew out of the formula. It just wasn’t enough for me anymore. When I saw that they had been relaunched with a new formulation I decided to give it another try and I’m really glad I did. They are much more opaque and creamy now, and feel far more hydrating. This nude color in particular is super on trend right now and it’s super low maintenance to just pop on the lips and go.
• Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick // Bauhau5 - I’ve described how I feel about Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks ten billion times before so the short version is: Love most of the line, but the formula on the super dark shades is terrible. This bright pink however is bomb dot com. And the color itself, I mean come on. Some brows and a nice tan with this color on the lips and you’re pretty much the queen of summer, just sayin’.
• JeffreeStar Velour Liquid Lipstick // Rose Matter - I thought I hated this color when I first tried it but as soon as I started to photograph it, it grew on me. Now I’m in love. The JeffreeStar formula is pretty excellent, it’s light on the lips and it wears very well. This one in particular is root beer scented and I’m not one tiny bit mad about it.
• Anastasia Liquid Lipstick // Soft Lilac - ABH Liquid Lips are some of my all time favorites so this one seems obvious, but It needed to be mentioned because the color is too damn good not to talk about. Literally every time I wear this I get compliments the entire day. Something about the shade is just enough to stand out and make a summer statement but subtle enough not to be over the top. It’s a total crowd pleaser.
