OMG I have got the driest skin in North America right now. Don’t believe me? Bring me someone you think is dryer I dare you. A combination of sunburn, a breakout that I tried a new acne product on and the naturally dry areas that I already have, has made for a patchy, scratchy mess on my face and neck.
When I get issues with dry skin I usually turn to sheet masks, so this morning I went to my vanity to grab one and realized I was completely out of them. In a panic I went to my computer to order some more, but then it occurred to me that I should show you guys which sheet masks I love and use on a regular basis. So I put together a post of the best sheet masks…in my humble opinion.
Sheet masks are great because they are easy to travel with, they don’t make a mess, and you get to chase around the people you live with and pretend to be Hannibal Lecter
Personally I prefer sheet masks that are either hydrating or brightening or both. I have used “clarifying” ones before with charcoal and stuff and while they feel nice initially, I think they break me out. It might just be too much for my skinny-skin-skin.

- WHEN 10 PM MASK // If you need some deep, profound hydration this is your guy. This might be the slimiest, coldest sheet mask I’ve ever used but it is also the most deeply hydrating. The actual sheet is made of coconut which is pretty cool, and has other nourishing things like watermelon extract and vitamin c. It may be called the 10pm mask but I actually like using this in the morning because it makes my skin nice and moist and plump for makeup application.
- BOSCIA TSUBAKI OIL DEEP HYDRATION MASK // This one is also great for deep hydration and softening. It doesn’t seem to be as incredibly packed full of serum as the When mask but it definitely makes a noticeable difference in hydration and plumpness. It’s also good for fine lines and wrinkles, which is lovely because ain’t nobody got time for that. One notable thing that I love about the Boscia sheet masks in general is that they are two pieces, so one sheet for the top half of the face and one for the bottom. It makes for a more custom fit and if you are a dude with a bear you can leave off the bottom half instead of having half the mask flapping in the wind.
- SEPHORA PEARL FACE MASK // I actually stayed away from these for a while because something about store brand skincare just scares me, but maybe I should stop being such a snob because they are my absolute favorite now. They masks are made of a fabric like material with a texture that reminds me of linen, and something about that texture just makes them sit and huge the face perfectly without sliding off. So far every single one I’ve tried has been awesome, but I narrowed my favorites down to three for the sake of not rambling on about masks the way George RR Martin would describe a tree…if you read GoT you know what I mean. This pearl mask probably made my skin look the nicest right off the bat of all of them, but is not as intensely hydrating as the others.
- SEPHORA LOTUS FACE MASK // The lotus variety of the mask might be my favorite. It has just the right balance between hydrating and brightening. I definitely felt like my skin looked glowy and luminous right after using it but I also noticed that it was plump and hydrated well into the next day.
- SEPHORA HONEY FACE MASK // Of the sephora masks this one may be the most hydrating and soothing. This is the one I am hoping will fix my current parched dessert situation. I may even do a When 10 pm and then follow up with this one the next day to really drive the hydration home.
If you’ve been on the hunt for the best sheet masks or have just been dying to try one and didn’t know what to get then I think these are a really great place to start. But please remember, if you wear one you are required to creep out the people around you while wearing them…otherwise it’s just a damn waste. ????
