These need no lengthy intro or explanation. They’re just super cool. I feel like a space princess. Or like Cinna from the hunger games is my stylist. Or like Queen Amidala. They’re just cool.
What are they, you ask? Gold cuticle tattoos from Rad Nails. Besides the fact that they look awesome the best part is they are really easy to use and they last way better than I expected them to. I’m not sponsored and I bought these myself, I’ve just been having a lot of fun with them this week!
I applied my first ones on on sunday night and they came off by tuesday night. The parts of the tattoo that wrapped all the way around my finger wore off more quickly where my hands rubbed on things a lot, but that’s to be expected, I use my hands a lot. and it still looked really good where it counts, like who’s really examining the inside of my fingers? Not too shabby at all. The application process is pretty self explanatory, as they say on their site “Just Add Water” But here are a couple of tips on how I put them on.
I start by selecting which one I’m going to use and then cutting it out from the paper. If it happens to be one that is supposed to sit right next to the cuticle I try to trim that edge as closely as possible. I find that makes it much easier to line up. Then you just place the tattoo where you want it to sit and gently press it down with a damp cloth or basically get it wet in whatever way you want. Once the paper is wet the tattoo sticks and the paper slides right off. Just like the temporary tattoos you had as a kid, but even easier.
Mine stayed on for around 3 days, but I put a top coat over the parts that were actually on my nail, and that lasted the full length of my manicure. You can even choose to put these ONLY on the actual nails over your polish (and under the topcoat) and they will look super cool and last as long as your polish. There are a ton of ways you can play around with these, but let’s take a look at how I styled them this time. I chose Butter London Chimney Sweep as my nail color:
It’s really nice that the ones that wrap around almost look like stacking rings, because it’s hot and I hate wearing jewelry when it’s hot out. So sticky and gross. These give you the look without having to feel the sweaty!
So that’s been my little fun thing to play with for the week. Would you ever wear gold cuticle tattoos?

M’lady, might I ask if you are wearing topcoat? That shine is so pretty!
Thanks!
P.S. In my ongoing battle with Seche Vite and nail polish peeling, I really enjoyed your more in-depth explanation of the problems some have with SV. Still experimenting. Love your site and the quality of your writing makes your posts so fun to read!
Thank you thank you thank you so much! Yes I’m wearing the Sephora formula x topcoat, it is definitely my favorite. I haven’t found anything I like better yet. It doesn’t peel or shrink, it dries quickly and and it’s super shiny!
Thank you again for your compliments, they made my day! 🙂
