Sometimes I legitimately can’t understand where time goes. How is it the end of July already? I bring this up because I was sitting at my computer planning posts and I thought “damn I’m in the mood for another lust list but it seems too soon” Except the last one was already pushed off my home page sooooo some time has passed. How the . . .I dunno.
So I figured screw it, let’s do this. Exciting new things have been catching my eye and all of my recent posts have been tip and tutorial oriented. Time for something lighter. Time for some summer must haves! As in I feel I must have these but don’t feel like spending money so I’ll probably just keep lookin’ . . .
- Too Faced Melted Lipsticks - When these first came out I happened to be in a Sephora back home in NY browsing around while I waited for someone, and I’m not gonna lie I thought they looked totally “meh” at the time. I 100% expected to walk out of there with a bunch of stuff though, and I got nothing so maybe I was just in a mood. That would make sense because now that I’m seeing all of these swatches and reviews of them I’m like dying to try for myself. I’m dying to try “Melted Berry” and “Melted Peony” specifically UPDATE: After originally typing this I realized that “Melted Berry” is PERFECT for this dress I’m wearing to a wedding in a few weeks, so I went ahead and ordered it . . .Only to realize that my VIB coupon got me a mini size of Melted Peony for free! How perfect is that? Thanks universe!
- Inglot Freedom System Fragrances - By now you probably know how much I love having portable fragrances like solid perfumes or rollerballs. I like to have something that I can put on in public without offending anyone with a spray, or throw in my travel bag without worrying about it getting on everything. These inglot ones are part of the freedom system which means they are meant to mix and match, which is super fun. Inglot describes them as follows
“Exquisite fragrances with light, fresh notes can be used separately or mixed in order to create a unique composition. A handy eco-friendly and reusable case in elegant white is perfect for the purse or pocket – great news for those on the go.”
Yup, that checks all the boxes for me! They are also priced at only $12 which is right up my alley too. The thing is, I like to actually smell a fragrance before I buy it because the descriptions means nothing to me (like who really knows what sandalwood and peony smells like off the cuff, honestly?) So I’m going to wait until next time I’m near an Inglot store and pop in to try them myself. and probably leave with fifty other items because their gel liners are just too tempting.
Assembly Home Sweet Scandinavian Tall Planter - I have a bunch of cacti and succulents along my window sills. Besides being super cute, they are also very hard to kill, which is great because I’m a bad plant mother. I can take care of a dog, but not an herb garden, it makes no sense. Anyway one of the first succulents I bought it growing completely out of control, and doesn’t fit properly in it’s pot anymore, It needs something more narrow and tall, instead of short and squat so I think this adorable planter with its silly face will be just perfect. I try to decorate as an adult but I’ll still throw something quirky in here and there, and I think this is just the type of quirky that will make sense in my place. Plus it’s just really funny and cute, I mean look at that face!
- Birkenstock Arizona Sandals in White - Birkenstocks are a pretty polarizing topic. A lot of people hate them and it seems that the hate is growing more zealous now that they are really trendy. I’m pro Birkenstock. I have had my silver Mayari Sandals since my senior year of college (so like five years ago) and I still wear them all the time. I’m so pumped that theyre a trend this year, I get to be up on the latest for free! Sweet. But I have to admit that I have been eyeballing the Arizona sandals in white as well. I love that the bottoms are white because it gives it an overall lighter appearance and I’ve really been leaning toward white and gray outfits these days. And I know I’ll wear them forever since I wore my silver ones even when they weren’t “in”. Perhaps during some end of summer sale they shall become mine. Mwahaha
- Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick - I don’t know what color of these I want to try yet, but I know I want to try the formula. It boasts “TEN HOUR budge proof wear” That’s pretty serious. My beloved Stila Liquid Lipstick only claims six hours of wear time . . .can ten hours be real? In a traditional, bullet style lipstick? I need to know. I will find out, and I will tell you!
Those are my summer must haves of the moment. I’m sure there will be more, and ya know . . .feel free to tell me yours so I can adopt them for my own 😉
