I’m always so nosey about what other women keep in their bags. I just want to poke around in there and ask them about their stuff. That’s insanely rude though, because they might be hiding weird secret things in there so I keep my paws to myself and just wonder. Maybe the mystery is half the fun . . . but I hope not because I’m about to tell you what’s in mine!
Honestly, what I consider a “must have” in my purse changes with the seasons, because different weather brings different needs. Right now I need things to keep me moisturized because the fall weather is turning me into a raisin at an alarming rate. So a hand cream is a must, and the one I’m in love with right now is the J.R. Watkins Shea Butter Hand Cream in “Lemon Cream” It’s super thick, silky and smooth, but it doesn’t leave your hands sticky or greasy. It also smells like lemon cookies. You know those little lemon Quadratini wafers that come in a bag? Like those. I had this in my purse when I had people staying with me for the weekend and the girls kept asking to borrow some of the “yummy smelling cream” That’s how you know it’s a hit hahaha!
The packaging is nice too, which is important because if I’m carrying something in my purse I don’t want it to be cheesy looking. Maybe that sounds crazy, but I’m sure some of you know what I mean. This one is old timey, and classy so I don’t feel weird whipping it out in public.
My other MUST HAVE purse item for the colder months is Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. In reality I use this stuff year round, but usually just at night on my lips and cuticles. But once it gets cold it goes everywhere I go. I use it on my lips, my cuticles, dry skin on my nose, even on the ends of my hair if it needs a little help. It’s a jack of all trades.
As some of you may have read before - I have issues with my cuticles peeling, and I go to great lengths to keep them in order. Lately my favorite combination is a little 8 hour cream on the cuticles and then a nice thick coat of my J.R. Watkins hand cream over everything. It seems to be working so far, but it’s not THAT cold yet. In a month or so I may have to do that, and then put gloves on. We’ll see how it goes.
So those are my current must haves! I know that’s only two items, but the 8 hour cream covers a lot of bases, it even takes the place of lip gloss, so no need to carry too many things around, or your bag just gets huge and heavy. And then people start wondering whats in it and poking around and finding all of your weird secret things. This is a vicious cycle, I’m done now . . . 😉
