When I first started to see the 90s trend popping up all over the internet, I honestly had a pretty visceral and negative reaction. I’m a 90s kid and as you can imagine, it brought back memories of trying to jump in on the platform sneakers trend and never quite getting it right (opting for neon green and pairing them with Winnie the Pooh boxer shorts was probably my first mistake). But the more I saw the more I’ve been roped in. Theres something grungy yet playful about the clothes and makeup from that era, it’s almost tongue in cheek. The chokers have also gotten a serious upgrade since the days of those plastic accordion things we used to wear…with plastic glitter butterfly clips…Jesus Christ as I type this I’m having second thoughts about this whole trend. Abort abort!
I’m mostly joking. I enjoy the spunky nature of 90s fashion and I’m definitely on board with a few of the trends for spring so I put together a 90s trend wishlist for spring. It is 100% free of butterfly clips. Miss me with that shit TYSM.
