Ahhhh holiday nail polish, arguably the most fun of all the nail polishes. Actually I would probably be arguing with myself on that one because fall colors are my jam. But I’m feeling swept away with festive feels this season so I’m pretty excited for holiday nail polish too. It’s a new me! Just kidding I’m still the same old grinchy Quinn deep down inside. See? I’m literally arguing with myself right now.
Also I got these cute fairy lights on copper wire and I will be wrapping them around everything including myself until December 31st. You have been warned.
Now let’s talk polish.
Essie – Ready To Boa // This is a new color from the Essie 2016 Holiday collection and I am feeeeeling it. It has a brownish quality to it in certain lights which makes it sorta sophisticated. I’ve been really into red-browns this year for some reason, it’s sort of a grandpa color but my grandpa never wore much nail polish so I’m not too worried about it. This is definitely more red than brown anyway.
Essie – Tribal Text Styles // This was part of the summer collection but if it ain’t a holiday color I kinda don’t know what is. I mean c’mon now. I also really enjoy when I find a metallic shade that flatters my skin tone because a lot of the time something more silver will give me zombie fingers. It’s a pale problem, if you’re pasty like me i know you feel my pain. But this has a black base which stops zombie fingers. So it’s good and I love it.
Formula X – Huntress // Ok admittedly this looks cooler in the bottle than it does on the nail. That being said, I love navy blue anything right now so adding a little gold shimmer to it and making it a little bit more festive is literally all I need to consider it a bomb ass holiday color. And like I have said a thousand times, FormulaX polishes are awesome. They are my second favorite formula after essie.
OPI – Comet Closer // This one was released last winter and after wearing it a few times I must admit that it does give me a little corpse hand BUT when I wear it and I have a little self tanner on it looks super awesome and festive. If you have slightly deeper skin than me this is an amazing color. It’s like an antique silver shade with a hint of gold…like actual freakin antiqued silver looks, gosh Nicole your descriptions are genius.
Butter London – Wallis // An oldie but a goodie. It’s green, it has gold, it wears well. It’s name reminds me of biggie smalls even though it’s spelled differently. Can’t lose.
That’s all I got! I mean that’s plenty because you probably won’t even have time to wear all of those before Christmas anyway, but I always have a hard time narrowing them down to five. Anywaaaaaays, let me know in the comments if you have a favorite holiday nail polish because I wouldn’t mind maybe adding a shade or two more to the collection mmmkay?
