Tell me if you ever go through this cycle of emotions:
You see someone use an expensive ass product that looks amazing. You think to yourself “I don’t mind shelling out the money for it if it’s that good” and then you remember that reviews aren’t always trustworthy and people have different skin and preferences and there are a million other variables and if you spend 75 bucks on a primer that sucks you just might flip a table or two?
So when SoChoix reached out to me to tell me about their sample service and give me a chance to try it I was like yes please, and thank you kindly! Basically what SoChoix does is allow you to pick out some samples for a few bucks a piece, they repot or repackage them in ingenious, super sanitary, clean and useable ways and then ship them to you in a cute little box complete with extra disposable wands. The beauty is that they carry high end products that you might really want to try before you buy, and you get to pick specifically unlike a typical subscription box.
You also get the choice of picking things a la carte so you don’t have to commit to a monthly box, or you can go the monthly route as well and it makes the samples cheaper.
They didn’t pay me to do this review or even tell me that I had to write about it, they simply asked me to try it and I really think it’s a cool ass service! I also haven’t really seen a SoChoix review on a regular beauty blog that’s not focused specifically on subscriptions. I’m sure they’re out there but I didn’t know anything about the service going in to this so it’s obviously not that well known and I need to tell the peoples!
Let’s take a look at what I got in my box!
Oh god I’m sorry I had to.
How cute is the teeny tiny sample packaging? I think it’s really neat that they take the time to actually properly repackage samples. They even melted down the stick products into sample pans. Super cool.
Here is what I got in my box (also what she said) I haven’t had a chance to try it all, but he this is a SoChoix review not a product review am I right? Spoiler alert though, the Marc Jacobs Highlighter gives me a beauty boner. Just sayin’
I mean, those are not crappy samples we are talking high end shizz right here, kids. So far I’m already thrilled that I sampled these things because I thought for sure the Marc Jacobs Glow Stick was all hype and I also thought that I would love the Tom Ford Cream Color for eyes but I kinda hated it. It’s educational!
So my SoChoix review is that I totally digg it, so much so in fact that if they never send me anything again because they read this and see that I kept making vag jokes I will almost certainly come out of pocket and use their service again anyway. I mean I would 100% rather spend five bucks on a sample and get to try it out than spend 40 on a high end shadow and find out that I hate it, ya feel me?
QUESTION OF THE DAY:
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BEAUTY BOX, AND WHY? I HAVE TRIED A TON AND I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK OF THEM!
