One thing I’ve witnessed a million times is girls watching a tutorial, or seeing a tutorial on a blog and then wondering why the makeup doesn’t look the same when they do it. I’ve seen in it comments, I’ve had people tell me in person and of course I’ve seen memes about it all over the place. For example…
Now I’m not going to tell you thatI have the answers to how to get your makeup to look exactly like whatever tutorial you’re watching. What I will give you is a list of reasons why it may not look the same, so you can stop hitting yourself in the head and yelling “Stupid! Stupid!” Because odds are, it’s not even your fault. And the reasons you are not nailing it can sort of be your little road map to success, you schmell me? So stop walking around saying “Makeup never looks good on me” and getting discouraged. There may be a very simple solution, you ready?
BONUS REASON: You simply need more practice. The reason these girls make it look so easy is because they do it all the time. They live and breath eyeshadow. They put it on to go to the corner store just to have another chance to perfect their blending or try a new combination of products. If you want to be that good you can, just stick with it!
So if you think “makeup never looks good on me” and you want to figure out how to nail some of the looks you see online, take all of these things into consideration. I’m not saying it’s a magic wand to make the makeup suddenly appear on your face like NikkieTutorials showed up and did your eyeshadow for the night, but I think it can definitely help you figure out what you need to get there 😉
