As you may have noticed from my last post, I have been spending a lot of time searching for makeup dupes lately. There are so many awesome resources out there and it occurs to me that a lot of people don’t always know about them. Around a year ago I wrote about some online makeup resources you might not know about and I figured it was time for part two. The people need to know!
So in my recent quest for makeup dupes I have stumbled across two new things that blew my mind with awesomeness.
The first one is a Pinterest account called “The Love Of Colour” and it’s the tits! It’s literally separate boards for every possible type of lipstick shade laid out in a rainbow. So for instance if you are looking for a nice pumpkin orange lipstick you can go to their board and browse all the pumpkin orange lipsticks that they have pinned from various parts of the internet. Yeah you heard right, they literally have a pumpkin lipstick board, its pretty specific. Imagine this conversation:
You- I need a new lipstick for this weekend and I’m gonna get real weird with it. I want to try yellow, what do you think, Dana?
Dana- Well to be honest I’m behind you 100% on your wild lip choices, do you girl. . .but I can’t imagine you in just any yellow it needs to be Banana yellow.
You- Hang on let me check the banana yellow Pinterest board real quick
That can be you now. You need banana? They have banana. It’s definitely a dupe gold mine, but it’s also really inspiring if you are looking for new lip colors to try, whether you might be bold enough to try banana or not.
The second thing I’ve been loving is DupeThat.Com (or @dupethat on Instagram where I found them) The site and the Instagram account alike are just chock full of dupes for various makeup products. They have dupes for things that are sold out, things that are discontinued, things that are hard to find in certain countries, things that are cheaper alternatives. You name it, they have it. It’s such an awesome idea. They are constantly updating it and the dupes are always pretty close. It’s really cool too because they find dupes through the hashtag #dupethat so it’s like a big community effort in a way.
I figured I would share that with you guys because makeup dupes are always fun and so are majestic (and regularly updated) lipstick rainbows. Leave me a comment and let me know if you have any awesome makeup resources that I need to know about! I really love this stuff, it’s so exciting and it makes me excited for all the spring makeup colors, woooo baby!
