It’d been way too long since I made a new DIY Body Scrub and my skin and my soul were sad. So today I whipped up this chocolate mocha body scrub, and yo . . .it’s like scrubbing your body in desert guys. It’s not the most intensely exfoliating scrub I’ve ever made. It’s more like a light scrub that has a ton of great skin benefits and just feels super luxurious when you need a good pamper. Not to mention that the oils leave your skin baby soft and you smell like you live at Max Brenner. I don’t want to toot my own horn but, actually you know what? Yes I do. TOOT TOOT madafacka! This stuff is good.
You are going to need:
One of my biggest pet peeves is when people just throw delicious ingredients into a scrub because they smell nice, but they have no benefit for the skin. I don’t have time to sit around making myself into a human fudge bar just for fun. So here is a little breakdown of why each ingredient is beneficial.
Now it’s time to put it together, which is easy-peasy
Add the coconut oil and olive oil into the container. If your coconut oil is solid (which is probably will be unless your house is like he warmest ever) just pop it in the microwave at 30 second intervals until it is liquid.
Stir the oils into the dry mixture with a spoon, and boom you’re ready to rock and roll.
I like to apply my scrubs to my entire body and rub it in while standing in the shower, but before I turn the water on. That way I’m keeping the scrub from getting all over the floor but I am also getting the benefit of scrubbing it in without water which is definitely more effective. As always, be super careful when you use something oil based in the shower because there’s nothing relaxing about slipping and cracking your dome on the tiles. Seriously, that’s no fun.
Let me know in the comments if you try it, and tell me what your favorite DIY body scrub is!
