Every time I write a post and I decide to do it the realest way possible and show parts of my face with absolutely no makeup I imagine people reading it out there like this . . .
Obviously that’s not the case because you aren’t a bunch of jerks ( <3 ) but it’s just a funny thought that passes through my mind from time to time and I figured I would share it with you.
If you are ashamed at my naked face, then take a hike buddy. We keep it real here at QuinnFace. 😉
So, pimples happen. For some of us they happen all the time, for some of us just every once in a while, but they are pretty much universally unwelcome. Unless you’re one of those weirdos who enjoys popping them, and even then I’m pretty sure you hate the pimple after the thrill is over.
I wrote a post on how to cover a pimple that you’ve popped quite some time ago and I mentioned that you can use Visine on pimples to get some of the redness out, and some people asked if it really worked. The way Visine and other eyedrops work is by constricting the blood vessels so not as much redness is visible. It works the same way on your pimple as it does on your eyes.
Obviously if you have a big acne problem this won’t help your whole face because you would need too much of it and it probably wouldn’t be good for you. But if there is a single zit that just won’t quit (sorry I had to ) then putting a little Visine on it will get help to take down some of the redness and make it easier to cover.
Luckily, or unluckily depending on how you look at it, I woke up recently with a very red pimple right under my eyebrow. Have you ever gotten one there? Jumpin’ jesus it hurts. But it provided a nice opportunity to demonstrate the Visine trick for you, so there you go. Glass half full!
OMG close up of my bare eye with a pimple on it. Wow, we’re really breaking boundaries in our internet friendship here guys. So that’s what it looked like, nice and bright and just UGH right up there being all friggin pimply.
I soaked a cotton swab in Visine and held it on for about a minute. You can use it straight out of the bottle, but then make sure you don’t use it on your eyes again. Like never ever again. That’s a recipe for an eye infection if I’ve ever heard one.
It doesn’t sting or anything either which is nice because I’m a wimp.
When you first take the Visine off it won’t look much better, but this is how mine looked after about 20 minutes. It’s not perfect, we aren’t performing miracles here but it’s quite a bit less red and much easier to cover.
Do I recommend you wash your face in Visine? Nope, probably not a good idea. But using Visine on pimples if it’s just one or two from time to time can really make a difference in how visible they are.
Give it a try next time you have an especially red and angry pimple, I think it could really help your zit-covering process!
