With the holidays upon us things have been rough in the old bank department. My debit card has seen better days, let’s just leave it at that. So the other day I ran out of setting spray. I have been very loyal to my Urban Decay All Nighter forever, but when I walked into Ulta and saw the $30 dollar price tag my wallet looked at me and was like “B*tch don’t EVEN”
So I decided it was time to try a cheaper one, and I bought the NYX setting spray in the dewy finish.
I walked out of there thinking I should have just sucked it up and spent the 30, but you know what? I tried it the next day and it’s not bad! Like really pretty damn good actually. My makeup stayed on for around the same amount of time as usual, so it passes that test. The finish is a bit dewier than “all nighter” and made me a little too shiny but whatever, for under eight bucks I can put a little powder on top. C’mon you can’t be THAT picky.
Now when I say for under eight bucks, you have to realize that the bottle is only two ounces, while Urban Decay Setting Sprays are four. But that brings it to around $16 dollars for 4oz rather than $30 so you’re still paying around half of the price per oz. pretty sweet deal.
My only complaint is that the sprayer isn’t that great. The mist that comes out seems a little uneven, which is annoying. To fix this issue I just poured the contents of the bottle into my empty urban decay bottle, and problem solved!
In conclusion, I probably won’t give up my all nighter spray forever, but I will definitely pick this one up in a pinch. If you are looking for a setting spray that is more budget friendly, then this is a pretty great choice.
