I never have plans for Halloween, it’s weird. Like for some reason I am always far away from the people who are actually throwing Halloween parties, or who want to go do something. With no plans I obviously haven’t planned a costume. Well I guess I could just wear one around all day while I do my thing, but that’s creepy right? Is it creepy? Don’t answer that.
So in the name of not being a creep but still being festive, I made some Halloween nail art! It’s easy, it’s kinda fast and the color on the tips on my nails is light, which hides my broken nail a little. Plus nobody will think I escaped from an institution unless they look real close. So much win.
Anyway, this is how I did it . . .
I applied one coat of base coat and two coats of nude polish and waited for it to dry. Try to pick a nude thats a similar color to your skin, I think thats adds to the effect.
Ok once your nude color is dry, get out a dark red, a bright red, an old receipt or piece of plastic, a nail art brush (or a teeny tiny paint brush like I used) and some polish remover. You might not need the remover, but I put some into the cap and used it to clean off the brush if things got a little gooey. I also poured some of each red color onto the paper side by side, and then mixed them together in the middle, to make it easier to get a gradient effect.
Next I just painted the drips on, starting with the darker color near the cuticle and gradually getting lighter. I find it easiest to use small dabbing motions, it looks a little lumpy now, but once you put a topcoat on it will all smooth together nicely.
See how much smoother it gets? Topcoat is the sh*t.
This might also come in handy if you do in fact have a costume and somewhere to go . . .lucky!
