So a few weeks ago I bought a YSL Glossy Stain and a L’Oreal Shine Caresse stain in order to compare the formulas. I did a full review with comparisons and photos and lip swatches and the whole nine yards here. The final verdict was that both were awesome and the L’Oreal one is extra awesome because it is only around $8.00! So I just couldn’t resist buying another one and reviewing it as well!
I decided to give one of the lighter shades a try because “Berry Persistent” was very, very dark. So I went with #189 “Pink Rebellion”
In the tube it looks like cotton candy pink. The formula, wear time and application are the same as the first shade. It is sheer and light on the lips, but gives enough coverage that you don’t need a liner….basically it’s super awesome too!
Pink Rebellion Arm Swatch
Here it is swatched on my arm. As you can see it is very light and sheer, but once it is on your lips it doesn’t disappear like many light, sheer pinks tend to do.
Pink Rebellion Staining Power
Here is the stain it left on my arm after 10 minutes. It is very subtle, but will still give you some color on your lips once the gloss wears off. For such a light color it gives a good amount of stain!
The almighty lip swatch.
As you can see, on the lips it tends to get a tiny bit darker than it looks in the tube (Keep in mind though that I have really dark lips so it may be a little lighter on you). Just like “Berry Persistent” the formula seems to intensify a few minutes after applying it, so keep that in mind when choosing a shade!
Overall, I am just as happy with this color as I was with the first shade I reviewed. This one reminds me of a really nice sheer pink gloss, except it is more comfortable on the lips and wears much longer…win and WIN.
I think this is a really great shade for daily wear, so I took a few “How I Wore It” photos for you guys. I paired it with a pink blush and a simple copper eye using my Urban Decay Naked Palette…
My “Trying Not to Blink” Face results in some serious crazy eyes! LOL
